Note: Cash only (they do have an ATM machine inside) One of the few Thai restaurants located in K-Twon area..I decided to check it out for a quick lunch. We were seated quickly and I ordered what I usually get (Pad Thai). Food came out quickly, and it was really good! Large portions and I had left overs to take home. Price is pretty average to me. Not too cheap and not more expensive than other places. They have a very small private lot. If you can't find parking there, then you might have to find street parking in the neighborhood area.

Holy Moly! This is the real deal. The food here tastes super authentic. The papaya salad is spot on! The chicken laarb is soooo good and the crying tiger is amazing. I recommend ordering mild spicy because even that is almost too much to handle. WOW, WOW, WOW that's all I have to say about the food. I will be back for the grilled chicken and tom yum! P.S. The honey toast is excellent too but it is enormous! It's enough for 2 or 3 people to share.

Isaan Station, where would I be without you? We like the Pad See Ew here. It's always perfect. The Crying Tiger is awesome too! The Papaya Salad is OK. The portions are good and the prices are great! The service is really good here too! Can't say I really like their decor though. The only drawbacks are the fact they are cash only and that they play Thai pop which sounds like they are playing the same song over and over. Well, there's also the fact they have a small lot which is usually full. That doesn't really matter though since they are very close to my apartment.

On a Friday night walked in and felt a warm welcome. We wanted to try some thai-issarn food. Issarn is a region located towards the northeastern part of Thailand, and each region has its own distinct cuisine... +Had the Crying tiger (sliced marinated grilled steak) +Thai beef jerky( nua dat diew) and + Papaya salad with sticky rice. Must eat w/ hands..Issarn style! +Finished it off with Thai tea and herbal grass jelly desert! Affordable prices, friendly, quick and attentive service. Very delicious food, love the decor, and casual ambiance, felt like I was in thailand again. - limited Parking and cash only policy are its only downsides. 4 stars for the excellent food experience. Keep y'all posted!

I have to say I found a gem. As someone who have been to Thailand and is having Thai food quite often, I would say this place makes very authentic dishes. We had a papaya salad, a Pad See Eew and a crying tiger, all so good beyond my expectations! Highlight is the papaya salad. I've always used it as an anchor for Thai food, have to say they made it well. Papaya was fresh and juicy, with some tomatoes adding to the sourness. Pretty good for an appetizer! Service is great, nice decorations in the room. One thing I didn't dig is the cash only policy :( so four stars.

I can't tell the difference between Isaan Thai food and regular Thai Food. Both were about the same for me. The menu is pretty similar too. But it's always good to have Thai food in Koreatown. It's closer but not by much, compared to going to Thai Town. The food is okay too. Parking for this place is not the best. It's a small cramped parking lot with valet parking.

I ordered through Eat24 for delivery. It was estimated to arrive 45-60 mins. It took forever for the delivery to come. The food came an hour and a half later. The ice Thai tea I ordered, a lot of the tea spilled. I mean drinks spill, but just putting it out there that that's how it was delivered to me. I also ordered Pad Thai and the Chicken, Khai Yang Ob Oong (Leg Quarter). Both dishes were mediocre. The chicken was super oily. The chicken itself was very oily and there was a thick layer of oil on the bottom of the container as well. The Pad Thai was okay, nothing spectacular. The Pad Thai noodles were clumped together. It was expensive for what it was. I've had $6 Pad Thais that tasted better. The Pad Thai here was $9.95. Not worth it and Portions were small too. Maybe it'll be better if you dine in, but I definitely do not recommend you order delivery from here.

Street food without being out in the street! Perfect for me since I'm careful of how things are served. You won't see me eat off of street vendors. I've heard too many stories of getting sick. Located on Western Blvd in Koreatown, Isaan serves street food in a brick and mortar. This restaurant is my ideal way to have street food prepared. This place is known for their Thai bbq chicken. I chose to skip that since I could get that anywhere. I wanted to try something different. So we tried Pad Kra Prao Ta-Lay which is stir fried seafood mixed with chili and basil which was delicious. We ordered all dishes medium spicy since we didn't want to scream the next morning. The Nahm Si-Krong is fried marinated pork rib. This was just okay. A bit sour since it's fermented. We also ordered Goong Chae Nam Pla Salad which is sashimi shrimps in spicy seafood sauce. This was very good, fresh and flavorful. Along with these dishes, you'll need some sticky rice to go with this. Overall, the food was good and different. Not sure if I'd go back but it was worth the adventure. Service here is decent. I needed tons of water to cool down the spice and they were prompt. Pricing reasonable. The only thing I noticed that I didn't like was the smell here. It may be from the fermented dishes. So be aware if your nose is sensitive and bothered by smells.

Lovely place. Very spicy, so don't order "Thai spicy" unless you really ant it that way (I could've killed my brother for doing so). The bamboo salad is really great, and particularly Northern in flavor (similar to something you'd eat in Laos). Great to have a place that specializes in Northern Thai cuisine. Pork neck, the different som tums, and soups are all fantastic.

Cute restaurant owned by a Thai family from Bangkok. Several friends have told me about this place and mentioned how authentic it is. After coming back from Thailand, I was craving Thai food! This place definitely hit the spot. My favorites were * papaya salad * grilled/roasted chicken * pad thai * sticky rice

I hate giving a mom and pop shop a bad review but this was average at best. The high cost to small portions and smell of the restaurant, not to mention inconvenient location knocked it down a star. This restaurant smack in the middle of K-town on Western off 1st. There's a busy parking lot with free valet but I hate having people drive my car and really, is it free if you're obligated to tip? I opted to-go so I parked in 1 of their 2 ten minute parking spaces. (p.s. some douche stayed in the other space before i got there and continued to stay after i left) The outside of the restaurant is very modern, reminiscent of a seafood or bakery in SF wharf. I think it's the light fixtures they have outside their sign. It's kind of weird. The signage doesn't really reflect the restaurant but whatever. What hits you first when you walk in is the smell. Smells like someone took a fresh dump then left the bathroom door open. It's not good. I'm not sure if I would be able to sit down and eat at this place comfortably. I've eaten in outdoor markets in Thailand, the ground fresh with fish guts, during a torrential downpour with cat-sized rats running around our feet. Not sure if I could stomach this. The smell was just too strong. The food is good but the portions are soooo tiny! I ordered a side of sticky rice. I got a handful, not even a quarter of a container of rice, wrapped in a plastic bag for 1.50. Papaya salad was good but I didn't get much. The balance was really tasty I just wish there was more. Grilled beef lap was good. Oddly, it tastes a little like carne asada in salsa. Chicken lap was alright. It was really spicy but that was my fault asking for a 6. I didn't like how the chicken lap wasn't finely minced. It had huge wayward chunks that didn't make for a good bite. All in all about $30 for 3 dishes and a measly handful of rice. I feel like this place is overpriced for what you're getting. Value is just not there. I'm not sure if people realize there ARE lao options at most thai restaurants. Just don't order that stir fry fusion crap you're expecting at american-chinese restaurants. Sapp Coffee is cheaper and their lap is good. E-Rod San Sapp has great papaya salad, khao piak, lap, grilled pork and is cheaper and you get more food. Ontario has a few good thai/lao food as well as Norwalk and Artesia. I'm disappointed. I was scouting restaurants to show my mom and dad (born in Sayaboury and Vientiane) when they fly into town. They would be like, wtf why are we paying for this. Side note: I saw a guy come back into the restaurant with a half drank thai tea asking for a refund because it tasted "chalky" and "sour". Seriously guy? You drank half of it. Also, if it's brewed fresh it will be slightly sour, that is the nature of Oliang tea. Reminder that being a good customer is just as important as getting good service. Btw, the service here is fabulous.

Casual dinner with friends. Some of the really authentic Thai food I've had in America. Papaya Salad and Crying Tiger were my favorite of the night. Price: ~$25/ person

The best tasting thai bbq chicken so far I tried in the US. I wish the portion be bigger ! I have to order 2 orders of chicken to fill me up . When I'm in near LA and craving some real thai food this is one of my fav places to go of course in the same level as Preal . I also love to get their sashimi shrimp salad it is so refreshing and delicious . So yesterday I ordered it to go with me back to Irvine and funny part is that till I got home the sashimi turned to be fully cooked shrimp salad :))) I still loved and enjoyed it .

I finally at here for lunch today, I've had it bookmarked for a year. I got there right after it opened so I was the only one there with loud Asian pop music playing on the big screen. The problem with Thai food is you need 4 people to really get a good amount of dishes and enjoy your meal. It was just me so I order the main dishes I wanted to try, som tum and the grilled pork neck. I asked the spicy level and I chose Thai medium. Now I like spicy but she told me Thai medium was hot and at Lotus of Siam (best Thai restaurant in America) the medium is frighten hot. Well the Thai lady in the open kitchen saw a white boy in business clothes and made it mild so the som tum was really weak. She brought me out more chills to add and saved the dish. A little fisher than I like but good flavor all around. The pork neck was insane! Best pork dish ever. Fatty, but not mushy, charcoal grilled so the smokiness was prevailing, and the dipping sauce was soooo good. Really a dish meant to be shared but I couldn't help myself and killed the whole thing. All eaten with the ubiquitous sticky rice, a match made in heaven. I would def return. P.S great service

I live in San Diego, but when i go to LA or drive pass LA, this is the place to stop by! Staffs are always smiling and very helpful. I would recommend BBQ Chicken. This is the real THAI BBQ Chicken--comes with two dipping sauce. Som Tum(s) are great. And don't forget to try their Toast with Ice Cream!

I love the South Bay, but it is impossible to get good Thai food here. Which is why I'm always down for a long-ass trip to Thai Town. And Isaan Station definitely hits the spot with authentic northern Thai food. It's cash-only with less than ten tables total so you know it's gotta be legit. Isaan Station is know for its papaya salads, no surprise. The green papaya is a synergy of spicy and sweet. The Nahm Dtok Mhu is a decent spicy grilled pork in a grainy-textured, slightly under-seasoned signature sour-sauce of fermented rice. It's better at Ruen Pair but no real complaints here either. Sorry South Bay, but I can eat just about anything here except the Thai. Whenever that craving hits, I'll be driving all the way up to Thai Town and it'll be worth the drive every time.

Isaan is a true authentic Thai restaurant. I've been to Thailand and had street food, the flavors are authentic. 1. Starter - The papaya salad with shrimps is the best I've ever tasted in the US. Very well balance with the lime and fish sauce and chilies. 2. The bbq chicken was seasoned so well, true Thai bbq chicken. 3. The chicken feet soup was amazing, had it for the first time, don't be turn off by chicken feet, you don't need to eat it but if you do, it falls off the bone, which means that it had been shimmered for a long time. 4. Dried pork bbq was so flavorful, just like how it's done in Thailand. 5. Pad Thai is common in Thailand but in America few places do it right because it's usually salty but Isaan does it right because the simple ingredients are well balance. Giveing Isaan a 5 stars for a true authenticity and friendly service. Will definitely be my to go Thai restaurant so I hope they will be around for a long time.

Everything I tried were really good! I got the pad see ew and the flat was crazy delicious. The green curry was the best I've had ever it had a lot of fragrant herbs and spices in it that I love! The beef jerky was however a little bit disappointing because after eating the curry and pad see ew the jersey didn't really shine on. It was bad tho. I even got it Togo and ate it later that night and it was still good. I took one star off because the portions are too small.

  • Michael J.

I thought the pad Thai was good, but have had better and the crying tiger was so-so, really kinda disappointed considering all the good reviews, also portions were on small side as well, plus it's a cash only place. This fact should be right up front and center when looking up a restaurant ( yelp feedback ). The parking was convenient and the service meh to ok.

Cash ONLY but they do have an atm machine inside the restaurant with $2.00 or so fee. Clean place, food comes out quick, and friendly staff. The papaya salad is fresh and tangy just the way I like it. The tom yum soup is perfectly seasoned and my FAV!! The tumeric chicken!! So MOIST and marinated just right.. not too much, not too little. MmMmm~ think I'll go get some of that this week ;)

  • RW L.

Went with a few friends and ordered about 6 dishes. The Thai beef salad, grilled tumeric chicken, and beef jerky are all excellent - tender and juicy. I'm not a Thai beef jerky connoisseur, but I've had other Thai beef jerkies that were dry, chewy, and tough. Theirs was heads and shoulders above others I've had. The Pad Thai and the Thai sausage are good, but not distinctive. Prices are fair. Our water was refilled regularly. Some seating areas are updated, but our party of 4 was seated in a large booth that was a bit worn down.

I'm never lucky with Thai food for some reason, this one looked promising at the beginning though: free valet on the plaza, very nice staff, brought food really quickly aaaaaand that's where it all went down... A HAIR in my dish...no no A PUBIC looking HAIR in my half-finished dish... Obviously didn't feel like touching the rest of the food we ordered. Yes, of course they apologized and took the hair dish off the check BUT that was it. We still had to pay $30 for the food we couldn't finish. Left hungry and disgusted.

Took mom and dad here for Mother's Day eat out. It's my parents first time at Isaan Station and they're a little excited. Waitstaffs were friendly as usual. They walked us into the second room with a big tv playing Thai music videos giving the place more authentic. I went to the bathroom while leaving my parents at the table and that's a big mistake! When I came back out, mom was like "I already ordered things you like hun." I didn't even bother to ask what did she order. I just kept on yelping. It's my new addiction now. :) Our server brought out the first dish and said "Papaya salad with blue crab extra spicy." I screamed at mom when I heard EXTRA spicy! "Did you order extra spicy mom?" She went...yea why? Did I mention it's their first time here? We also had Tom Krueng Nai, spicy pork liver and grilled pork neck with sticky rice. Every single dishes was spicy as hell except grilled pork neck. I cried the whole meal. Yet, they're all delicious and flavorful. Isaan Stations never disappointed me so far. I'll go practice some more till I can handle extra spicy and I'll come back soon! **go with medium spicy people or you'll cry like a baby!!

Wow, great Thai food. We were in LA and decided to go to Thai Town. This place is more in K-town, but super legit. The flavors were awesome. Good spice to everything. Little old ladies working in the open kitchen. Our waitress spoke limited English and wrote the orders down in Thai. The parking lot is small and requires Valet. I recommend the Lao style papaya salad with fermented sauce and blue crabs. A+

Definitely 5 stars. Being a Thai person who loves spicy authentic food. I am so happy to find this place. Though it is about 45 minutes drive but it always worth the trip. North eastern part Thai food is what they do best here. The service is so much better than I expected. This place helps me feel less Homesick especially when feeling like Spicy Papaya Salad and Isaan sausage!!!!

We've been here twice and recommend it, but today Isaan loses a star for the shockingly overpriced Honey Toast- a whopping $10.95 for a DESSERT, really?? That's more than the main dishes cost ($8.95 and below)! Yes it tasted good and was ridiculously enormous (definitely for sharing between at least 2), but the most I would have paid was $5, especially as the iced herbal jelly dessert is only around the $3 mark (which I actually like more, a refreshing blend of chewy jelly, crunchy ice chips and brown sugar sweetness to calm your mouth down after a hot meal). That little annoyance aside, we highly recommend the perfectly grilled Khor Moo Yang (pork neck) and Somtum papaya salad, one of the best we've had. Be warned though, ask for medium or mild heat unless you're used to legit, Thai-level, ear-tingling explosive chilli heat. "Spicy" means REALLY TASTEBUD- OBLITERATING SPICY! Free parking in the daytime, valet at night (usually there's free street parking nearby in the housing area). Overall, we like it as a nearby Koreatown joint with authentic Thai street food that saves us the drive to Thai Town, but it isn't the cheapest nor the most varied (you won't get curry options here). And of course, beware the sneaky dessert rip off!

Thai food is much more than "pad see ew" and "pad thai". Just like different dialects and customs exist in each country in the world, there are distinct regional specialties in Thailand that arises from climate differences. Isaan is a Northeast region of Thailand that borders Laos to the north and Cambodia to the southeast. A significant amount of its population is involved in rice farming. Unfortunately, due to Isaan's distance from the sea, the climate is dry, leading to prolonged droughts and due to the poor soil, there may only be two harvests for rice per year. Sticky rice is a staple of the Isan-Thai diet. This rice is clumped together unlike the soft grains in Jasmine rice. It is understood that Isan-Thai natives use their hands to eat the sticky rice with papaya salad or grilled meats. I learned about Issan Station from reading an article that lists the top 10 restaurants in LA that a Thai-native would visit. Issan Station in LA's Koreatown proudly serves very authentic Isaan food, and it would be a shame to come and not order dishes unique to the region. Put down your pad thai or pad see ew, because they are not specialties at this restaurant, and instead order: - som dtum thai (very spicy and slightly sweet green papaya salad), - tom saep kra dhook mhoo (hot and sour braised pork rib soup) - khai yang ob oong (Thai charcoal grilled chicken marinated in turmeric) Isan-Thai food can be a delight for people with sensitive taste buds. For example, the papaya salad appetizer tasted extremely spicy, sour, and sublime sweet, with heat lingering on the tongue. It was the first time I experienced this complex combination. The papaya and peanuts were crunchy and since they were served cold, it was refreshing at first, but the heat was a bit overwhelming for me. I'm sure the mild version is even fiery for Western palates. Good thing the servers were attentive in refilling my water cup before I became a human flamethrower. If the flavors of the original papaya salad is not enough, there are even more variations on the menu. For example, the "som dtum bhu pla rha" is a variation loaded with fish sauce for enhanced flavors. Next dish that arrived was an Isaan-style soup. The sourness and spiciness did not stop at the appetizer. In fact, the tom saep kra dhook mhoo elevated sourness to a new level, attributed to the heavy doses of lemongrass, Thai herbs, and lime leaves in the soup. Hot and sour soup is not foreign to me, but the Isaan version featured a huge explosion of tart flavor, tanginess, and richness that I had never tasted before. Very unique experience to eat the pork rib stock in a sour and deeply spiced Thai broth. Finally, our Isaan meal closed with the Thai BBQ chicken. Grilled meats is a popular and simple street fare in northeast Thailand, with the "crying tiger" and "khai yang" being must-orders at this restaurant. The BBQ chicken at Isaan Station is extremely juicy and tender. It is lightly marinated before being delicately grilled, so dip it the honey and pungent chili dipping sauce. It goes well with the sticky rice. Eating at Isaan Station allowed me to appreciate the cooking of northern-eastern Thai cuisine that contrasts the noodles, curries, and milder soups of central Thailand and the seafood of the southern Thai cooking. The Isaan recipes yield complex flavors despite being much more simplistic than recipes of other Thai regions. The heat level can be insane and beyond comparison. I am humbled and impressed at the level of spiciness that Thai natives can tolerate.

This place is the spice king!!! Wow if you like minced pork (no fat on it) you MUST get the pork larb (with glass noodles). Dear God that dish was out of this world amazing. Would not change a thing about it. It was like a 4th of July firework show in my mouth. Also, pad thai and pad kee mao were also quite tasty. As the staff is required to do (and wow were the girls cute, wait that doesn't affect the food, no comment)...if you get medium or spicy level with the dishes....they will warn they are not responsible. If you can handle your spicy food..... get medium because its still quite spicy without taking away flavor. I have yet to try spicy because I can tell most flavor will be lost with the absurd heat. Medium is plenty hot for those of you who can handle the heat. For those of you who don't like spicy, mild will still be a little spicy but worth the minor discomfort. CASH ONLY last time I was there. Don't get the plastic out as it will be rejected!

Ordered the Beef Salad and Crying Tiger. Although both tasted similar, they were both clean and tasty. Ordered the Salad mild but something came out super spicy. Food was very tasty. They only take cash so come prepared. Parking lot is a nightmare but they do offer free valet services.

You'll notice the menu here is different than a lot of the Thai restaurants in LA - different sounding names and some unique ingredients. That's because the cuisine here comes from the Northeastern region of Thailand. I met a friend here for lunch and we split the LARB WOON SEN, a spicy glass noodle dish with minced pork, red onion, mint leaves, lime, rice powder, cilantro, coriander and green onion, and the CRYING TIGER, slices of charcoal grilled beef tenderloin. Both were great, especially the larb woon sen. The crying tiger was a bit fatty, but you might like that. We added some STICKY RICE (comes in an individual bamboo basket) to balance out the meal and I had a THAI ICED TEA to curb some of the spiciness of the larb woon sen. Can't wait to try more here! Cash-only, but inexpensive. There's a tiny lot, but you may be able to find metered parking depending on the time.

I'll be returning for sure. The Crying Tiger beef is probably my favorite of anywhere I've ever had it -really well cut pieces of meet with no grizzle, and the sweetest flavor. I also had a Tom Yum Chicken which was very good, although I didn't expect it to be full of red onions (onions are gross, don't even try to fight me). Sticky rice was perfectly cooked and the service was fantastic.

Wow. Food is so flavorful and chill environment. We had the nam ddok moo and Tom yum soup. So so so good. Waitresses were really nice and service is nice. I felt bad because I kept asking for stuff but they weren't mean about it and was very helpful. My new fav Thai place.

Delicious food and timely delivery as always. Delivery guy was polite and gave me a coupon for a thai iced tea with my next order. Sticky rice is amazing, Thai green curry is the best I've had in LA and the pad see ew is not too shabby either. 5 stars from me!

I'm a bit iffy about a good Thai restaurant not being in Thai Town. My date swore that one of his friends loves the place, and his friend is Thai. First off, the decor is "trendy", and I'm using air quotes for this. To the detail-oriented perspective, it looks like a hot mess; vintage radios on the wall, an unfinished paint job and mismatched seating. To the foodie perspective, "GIVE ME GOOD FOOD, OR GIVE ME DEATH!" To sum it up, the quote, "don't judge a book by its cover" is a nice way to put it; the place is purposely undone to give it a "modern" "vintage" look. From what my date has told me, this look is kind of the "in" thing in Thailand. Foodwise, we ordered the Som Dtum Thai (papaya salad), crying tiger and Larb Moo (minced pork). All the food was pretty delishious. The papaya salad had the right amount of sweet and spicy, and the minced pork was flavorful enough. And the crying tiger? LOVE IT. The beef kind of melted in your mouth with just enough smoky flavor. The sauce on the side gave it an extra flavor that kind of danced around the palette just a bit. Would recommend the three dishes I had, and possibly more, if I came back to eat. Small note, this place is CASH ONLY!

Solid thai food place in Koreatown. Parking is either street or the valet parking. It's on Western which is a pretty busy street so hopefully you'll get lucky with that. There's plenty of seating and there's a TV that plays Thai-pop/Thai-drama. Ordered Pad Thai (pretty standard), Pad see ew, and Crying tiger. Portion size was pretty good I thought, not too much but not too little either. Pad Thai's noodles were very interesting. It was a lot slimmer/skinnier than what I was used to. It tasted good and wasn't too greasy either. I chose shrimp as the option and it tasted good as well. Pad See Ew was cooked well and tasted hearty. The veggies tasted fresh and the beef pieces were big and juicy. Crying tiger was probably the most mediocre out of the three items. It was good but nothing to rave about. All the sides came with some white lettuce and small veggies on the side. Service was pretty good. The waitress was helpful, quick, and nice. I'd definitely go back here. Price was reasonable as well.

Spice is life and they got the spice. It's hard for me to find somewhere that really makes me sweat off the spicy foods but this is that place. First time there, we asked for extra extra spicy and the waitress looked at us like we were bonkers. Lesson of the day: do not get extra extra spicy here because their thai chilies are actually fire. The interior threw me off a bit but the food is SO good! Dare I say my favorite Thai spot in LA? They have such good blue crab papaya salad! Other must tries are the Crying Tiger (so tender and the dipping sauce is bomb), and the Larb Moo. The one dish that I wish they did better is the Pad Kee Mao. I usually never order Thai food without it but it's not amazing here. Would rather order something else since the rest of the menu is so delicious. YUM!

What beyonds my expectation is the service. I love all Thai staff. The foods are kinda of salty; however, they're not too bad as i knew Thai people do love a little spicy-salty. The whole thing was amazing :)) enjoyed it so much !

I've always wanted to try this place, but they are cash only so I've not been able to go until today. The food is phenomenal, even the sticky rice is great. We got the Pad See Eew and the Larb Moo. Be careful on the spice, it was a little too spicy at mild for me. The Pad See Eew was wonderful. Best Thai food I've had in LA. Very fresh and done nicely. The atmosphere is neat too, it's a little spot but very pleasant. The service was great, the girls here are so sweet. Definitely recommend this spot, I will be back again soon!

The BBQ Chicken here is very Good and Good service, best 'spicy' som tum in la Our order: The Som Tum Blu Pla-Rha- Very Spicy! BBQ Chicken- Skin was crispy, very tender. Issan Sausage- Good. Try the Palm juice for an authentic Thai bottled drink! Sweet and refreshing.

My favorite Thai spot other then the one in the grand central market. And actually they told us about this place. If you want real Thai food this is the place to be. They taste just like the street food I had in Thailand and I loved it ever since. Their pad Thai isn't orange but the color and flavor it should be. Yes they are cash only but it's totally worth it. I bring all my friends and family here and they won't back to anywhere else! Also I saw them on the discover LA blog as one of the best Thai places so get here before they get too packed. Their parking isn't ideal since it's in a small strip mall in koreatown so I wish they expand soon and get either a new or another location, I put this on everything...... You won't be disappointed!!!

Sawadee khap! Finally! One of the most Authentic Thai Isaan (NE Thailand) street food restaurants in Los Angeles! While technically still in part of Koreatown, it was totally by accident that I happened upon this little gem. The menu is only a two-sided long sheet of paper with all of some of my favorite Northeast Thailand cuisine. I ordered the green papaya salad Thai style (Som Tom tahm Thai), Crying Tiger of beef (Sua longhi), sticky rice and Thai Iced tea. I cannot express enough how important it is for Thai food to be done correctly to properly enjoy the true flavors, health benefits, and enjoyment of all that Thai cuisine has to offer, which are many. Isaan Station/ Thai Street Food Restaurant DID NOT disappoint! The Crying Tiger of beef I ordered rare came out perfect! tender, flavorful and cooked perfectly, which other than my own restaurant and Pok Pok in Portland Oregon this is the only Thai restaurant i have been to that came even remotely close. ..and they nailed it. The SomTom was one of the best and sticky rice cooked perfect. Try this place and compare everywhere else to them. You won't be disappointed! Ghin khao! Sawadee Chef Dom - Always be True to the Cuisine!

Super yummy papaya! Sticky rice is yummy! Sausages are yummy! Try everything. Cash only. Nice staff and hard workers. Don't forget to tip. Super cute small place. Check out the photo collage I guess. I can't really add any more to it but the food is good. It's in Korean town and parking is okay so find available spots on the street side. Isaan spice Is spicy so order moderately. Though it's super good but if you can't really take the heat just add a little bit at a time. Oh before in forget. They bbq beef is to die for! So yummy!!!

You get a free drink if you review! UNFORTUNATELY, i don't care for free stuff but this place has fast service and great staff. Parking is good, they even have valet! Food was perfect! We ordered: Tom yum soup papaya salad bamboo salad tiger crying Bill came to about $40 for us two. IT WAS WORTH IT! Next time I come around town I'll stop here definitely! Hats off to everyone who works there including the owner!

Food is fresh and delicious. Service was excellent! I was here for an early dinner during the week and it seems like the best time to try this for the first time. Highly recommended you try this place.

Probably the worst Pad Thai noodles I've had! No flavor, had eggshells mixed in the eggs like i was eating sand with the noodles...., and overall it was dry and bland. Not something you should be eating!! Papaya salad was the most decent dish out of the 3 BUT, the salad came warm, and they threw in lime wedges inside the salad!! Can you NOT throw in the lime wedges inside my food?!!! WHO EATS LIME WEDGES?!!! Thats just GROSS! I found 3 wedges, 333333333333!!!!!!!!!!!!! Chicken larb dish was very salty and just...not...right. We did delivery through Yelp- Eat24. I dont want to eat eggshells and lime wedges, ever again!!!

This spot is on my top Thai restaurants in LA. It was flavorful and all of my friends enjoyed their dishes. I highly recommend this place for Thai food lovers. The restaurant appeared to be clean with fun art on the walls. The service was good but the waiters don't hover so you may need to call them over for whatever you need rather than expect they'll come check on you often. It was nice that they had a private parking lot and so many other establishments (food, desserts, massage, etc) nearby that are worth checking out as well.

Amazing Thai street food right in the heart of Koreatown. As for Thai food, this is probably almost as good and as traditional as it gets. All the flavors here are spicy, strong and finger licking good! We ordered the sausage, larb, and papaya salad along with some sticky rice to go along with it. The sausage was delicious and definitely had a unique flavor to it. The larb here was amazingly flavorful and extra spicy even when you order a mild. Mild for these guys is a spicy at any other chain restaurant you would order at. The papaya salad was real fresh and hit the spot. Awesome place, definitely coming back.

One word: SPICY!!!! I love authentic. I love spicy. Ok, I thought I loved authentic and spicy. Then I dined at Issan Station Thai Street Food and realized I am a lightweight. This little restaurant is tucked away in a mini mall on Western Avenue. The lot is small but street parking is available. The decor is hipster-cute. Thai music videos play on a loop from a few TVs mounted on the walls. The staff is friendly and attentive. When you order the server asks how hot you want your food. There's a range from 1 -10. I ordered a 5 the first time, thinking I could handle it. The very sweet waitress talked be down to a 3. I followed the other reviewers in ordering the food but honestly my selections were so spicy I really didn't enjoy it that much. But I could tell the food behind the super spicy was really good, so I returned and this time requested spicy level 1. Honestly I tasted no difference in the heat level. It was more tolerable but still just too spicy for my taste buds. I would give this place 5 stars if there was more of a range of spicy-heat. If you order 10 then sure, bring it on! But level 1 should be mild.

I haven't dined in yet but I have ordered delivery few times Their delivery is quick I always order pad see ew with chicken. The first time I ordered from here, they forgot my fresh coconut water and pickled jalapeños. They did send my coconut water after I called them. I was charged for it but they just forgot. The driver came back right away. Their pad see ew is always on point. I get it spicy Papaya salad is the perfect chewy texture I also got a half chicken. Really moist! The coconut water is a must

I ordered $8.95 noodle dish, but they charged me $16.95 to replace to seafood from meat lol. They never informed me when I ordered and still wanted me to pay $14.95. The food was ok but service sucks. They make money by ripping off customers. It was a very unpleasant experience. Be careful guys when you go there!

I love their food very much.the waitress told me that they made thai street food and their food was very spicy ,I should carefully when i order food. The papaya salad with pickled blue crab (som dtum bhu mah) is so delicious - the crab has a sweet taste which balances with the spicy sauce of the papaya salad very well. I am getting the Larb Woon Sen to-go!

This is a delivery review. I've never eaten at the brick and mortar shop. Here is my take. I always get from this establishment: Crying Tiger, and Kohr Moo Yang, 2 orders of Sticky Rice I've tried Ssom Dtum Bhu Mah 3 syllables: DE - LI - CIOUS! Ssom Dtum Bhu Mah: This is papaya salad with blue crab. You get sour and sugary tones with the lime sauce and a delightful crunch in the papaya. The crab is semi-raw (I think the acidity cooks it a bit). If you're used to Korean spicy crab, then the texture of the crab is right up your alley, albeit slightly less slimy. I personally put the crab aside, and while eating the papaya salad, interchange between the salad and crab to prevent flavor fatigue. If you're dainty, you'll use chopsticks for the crab, but you'd better Thai massage those small legs with your fingers if you want to get every last bit of protein. This is spicy, even for the lowest spice level. Beautiful. Crying Tiger: Admittedly, this is the least favorite of mine of the the 2 meat dishes I always get. That's not to say I don't rate it a 5. It's like saying that you slightly prefer one child over the other but you still love both (don't lie, all you parents). It's beautifully cooked and seasoned. The reason: I'm a fat guy (pun intended), so I like the fattier pieces of the meat. Flavorful, rich, slightly chewy, parents-yelling-throw-it-away-type of fat person. Isaan tends to give you the "good" parts instead of the "bad" (fat). I take this at level 0 on spice, but I am going to try it spicier. I'm Korean, but Thai spice makes me feel small in comparison so I've refrained. Not spicy really isn't spicy without the accompanying side sauce. Kohr Moo Yang: This is BBQ pork and it is freaking delicious. Really, the only reason why I like this more is because it has a little more gooey goodness of artery coating fat. Again, preference. If you want to go leaner, I'd say Crying Tiger, but if you can get both (on eat24, there is a spending minimum, so have at it), do it. Don't get me wrong, it's not all fat. It's just a little bit more than the Crying Tiger. It is still lean, in my opinion. Sticky Rice: *This is less Isaan and more ignorance review* I've lived over 30 years of my life not having tried sticky rice until trying Isaan. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this rice actually has less gluten but all the glutenous properties of Korean/Japanese rice? This has a slightly chewier texture than Korean rice cake, and I can ball this up like I'm out of control and shovel that into my mouth with the meat. I had this the next day and it was still awesome. It's a perfect complement to strong flavors, which means it's perfect for strong flavored cuisines like Thai food. I'm not a Thai food expert, and I have tried a very large amount of very bad restaurants. This place is amazing. I regret not ordering from them sooner.

Whenever I come here, 90% of the patrons are Thai. I will accept that as confirmation that this place is authentic. The food here really takes me back to my trip to Thailand! The pungent fish sauce and chili smells in here make my day! Pad Thai - I normally judge a Thai restaurant by this dish. If they make it American style sweet, I know I'm not coming back. Their Pad Thai was spicy, slightly sweet, tangy, and fragrant. I loved it. Pork Larb - I drool thinking about this unassuming, simple yet flavorful dish! Minced pork with thai chili, lemongrass, mint and cilantro (I think). Tom Yum Soup is spot on. Word to the wise, that fuel they use to keep your soup hot smells Noxious. It totally puts me off my dinner so I usually ask them to take it away. I tried once to ask that they not serve it with my soup but my server didn't quite understand. Oh well. I took away a star because the atmosphere has a cafeteria feel to me and because of the insanely mesmerizing (not in a good way) low volume Thai music video playing in a central part of the dining room. All the videos are junior high virginal romance themes. In between these oddly low volume videos, the dining room gets uncomfortably quiet. I'd prefer some music played over the speakers vs what they've got going on now. Don't go for the atmosphere, bring entertaining friends instead. If the waiters tell you, "that dish is no good for non- Thai people," believe them.

Honestly, If you expect come here to eat thai-American food you'll disappoint & walk away from this place BUT If you open mind enough to understand the roots of culture, i'd highly recommend this place for your new experiment. Start my day with refresh beverage I'd rather hv palm juice or coconut juice bcuz the flavor it's goes with thai food more than thai ice coffee and Thai Ice tea. I think thai ice coffee and Thai Ice tea it's goes with thai desserts or thai snack better. Top selection thai street food menu - Kai yang chicken bbq charcoal it's so aroma and juiciness. - Pork jerky or beef jerky taste like a candy sweet, savory, salty, juicy. - Crying tiger super tender, juiciness, savory and delicious - All kind thai-Laotian papaya salad super tasty and refresh - dtub wan (spicy salad pork livers) Warning note 2U : If you are type guy/girl who can't stand spicy food you must to let them know/ask first before you order cuz you'd cry in tears for spiciness. Service by Young thai girls who's friendly and smile to customer. (Land of smile) Somehow, I like the fact their open thai music drama big flat screen tv Its keep my friends stay more a little longer bcuz one of my friend she's curious and ask me a ton question "it's that thai lady boy" (kra-Toey) in TV? LOL Anyway, 6 people guest bills total 94$ However, I'd like to go back craving REAL thai street food again it's not bcuz it's cheap it's just bcuz theirs know what people need/love to eat thai good food in basic. Don't forget "Cash only" BUT NO worry their Hv ATM machine in the restaurant. ||||||||||Out of 5|||||||||| Food - 4.00 Service - 3.9 Reasonable price - 3.9 Parking - 1.5 Clean - 3.7 Atmosphere - 3.9

The good? Amazing food. perhaps the best grilled chicken I have had in a long time... well cooked and crispy outside and tender inside... spicy and sweet dipping sauces were also top-notch. We ordered delivery and my coworkers also raved about their noodle dishes. The Bad? The delivery guy forgot to bring my order of Jasmine Rice. the Ugly? We immediately called the delivery guy and he said he would come back with the rice. He did... a half hour later. We are 5 blocks away from the place. We were well finished with our meal by then. No compensation was offered, nor anything but a pained grimace by the delivery guy. They can do better! The food is good, and I would recommend pickup or dine-in in the future.

Great Thai food in an area that isn't so ghetto. Usually to get good Thai food you would have to go Hollywood and head towards some less attractive area. So far so good Would highly recommend to anyone The atmosphere is as Thai as it gets and it is very friendly. Don't hesitate to try their crying tiger and Pad Thai.

Amazing! The boys were hungry so we hopped on Yelp! and used keyword "Spicy" to find a new place to eat. Isaan popped up as the ~20 place listed and we were excited to try Northern Thai street food. Our taste buds were ready. But quickly, it's sad that reviewers such as Mish R and ET. gave this place such low scored for their Pad Thai. Well honey, you ordered wrong because they don't specialize in Pad Thai. They just include it on the menu so that people aren't upset and complain: "What kind of Thai place doesn't have Pad Thai!?" Psh. It's an entire country of amazing food; open your mind. Anyway - because of this, their Pad Thai is lackluster. Hint: ORDER THE DISHES THEY'RE KNOWN FOR such as.... Som Dtum Bhu Mah ($7.95) - Green papaya salad with raw picked blue crab. The last time I had something like this was in Thailand. I was immediately transported back to my vacation with the first bite. The marinade packs a punch. There is a fishy flavor in raw crab that's eased by the papaya salad drizzle. It was perfection. Get the mild. Seriously already spicy.. boyfriend was about to chew on a pepper thinking it was a green bean. Luckily I stopped him from making that fatal error. Nahm Dtok Nue ($7.95) - This is larb but instead of minced pork which is the traditional ingredient, spicy slices are charcoal grilled beef is used. This blew our minds. The boyfriend said that it was VERY reminiscent of an Indonesian dish and he devoured it because it was so comforting. Mild was also intensely spicy. How do local Thais do this?! But that's a hint of authenticity. If you can't handle the mild as a non-Thai, you're eating REAL Thai food. Green Curry - Very standard, but well done. A safe dish and not as spicy. This was order off the Thai section of the menu which I previously warned you about, but it was a nice 3rd dish to our flavorful two. Oddly the curry didn't come with rice. I'll over look that considering how good the other dishes were. Thai Tea/ Thai Coffee is a must to calm your tongue. Note to self: Next time try Khai Yang Ob Oong (Charcoal grilled turmeric marinated chicken) and things from the Deep Fried section. This was also recommended by the waitress. Note to you: If you want Thai-American Pad Thai go to your suburb Thai restaurant. If you want to try other dishes from Thailand, come here and ask the waitress for recommendations. #foodsnob CASH ONLY

Really delicious and authentic Thai food! I can tell it's authentic because I have been to Thailand once. Lol actually more so because of all of the waiters and kitchen staff being Thai, all of the customers being Thai, and there being Thai music videos played on the tv's. At this point I don't even need to taste the food to know it's gonna take me straight back to Bangkok and taste BOMB. Which it does. If you wanna go outside of your box (of pad Thai and pineapple fried rice), ask the waitress for recommendations! If not, the pad Thai is really good...

Papaya salad!!! I love Thai BBQ but they don't have papaya salad like they do here. I love the pork neck, chicken curry and papaya salad. It's cheap, super speedy and always a spot here. It's also convenient that there's a Paris Baguette and Boba Time.

Good clean Thai food in ktown. Portions are a bit smaller than what you would get from Thai town, but it makes up for it with better quality proteins. Seems pretty authentic as their customer base is mainly Thai. Good papaya salad, medium spicy is typical to what you'd find at authentic joints. Crying tiger is also good, as is the Tom Sam Kra dhook mhoo. Thai iced tea is a bit too sweet, but good overall.

I ordered Thai iced tea and it was yummy and creamy. The pad Thai was delish too, with a hint of spice. The girls are very nice there always checking on you. The only thing I didn't like was the menu, it was a little hard to read, but def would return!

Cash only! The best Thai food I have ever had! I went around 7:30pm on a Saturday night, with two friends, and it was not busy at all. The service was great, and the food was amazing. We started with a papaya salad. It was fresh and flavorful. I really enjoy spicy food, but on the waitress's recommendation, we ordered the papaya salad with mild spice. It was perfect. Just enough to clear your sinuses, but not so overwhelming that you can't enjoy the flavors of the food. Next, we ordered the Khai Yang Ob Oong, and chose "leg quarters" instead of "wings." The chicken was really soft and tender. It was well-marinated and had great flavor. It came with a small amount of vegetables on the side. No complaints about the chicken! We also ordered the Pad See Eew, and it was phenomenal. We chose beef as our meat and it was a brilliant choice. Nothing was soggy--it all tasted very fresh. The noodles and vegetables were cooked to perfection, and the dish was colorfully balanced. The last thing we ate was Tom Kha with sticky rice. We ordered the soup with vegetables and fried tofu. The soup was spicy and so flavorful, and the consistency was great. The tom kha was really a perfect ending to the whole meal. Aside from the food, the restaurant is a pretty fun place. There is (what I think was) Thai music and a TV showing the music videos. The walls are colorful, but the decorations are kind of random (not necessarily in a bad way). This will definitely be my go-to Thai food restaurant from now on. The food experience was truly amazing.

Props to the fast delivery! Ordered around 6:45pm and got here by 7:10. But watch out on the spicy level for this place because a medium is blazing even for my Korean standards. Whew! My stomach is literally on fire! But nevertheless, good. Recommended.

REALLY stellar Thai food. Super funky and sweet DIY-esque comfortable decor. Service is attentive and kind. Checked this place out after seeing the good reviews but I thought the food itself was pretty mediocre. We ordered the papaya salad, pad see ew, and the crying tiger. Ive had better thai food elsewhere and although the prices were decent, the portions were pretty small. Would I come back? Maybe. Nothing compelling enough to make me want to though...

Food is good and fresh but I'm not sure what all the hype is about. Wouldn't drive all the way here just for Thai food. Maybe if the portions are larger or dishes were cheaper. Staff are friendly and restaurant is cute. Ordered the pad thai, Tom yum soup and larb. All good but not mind blowing like I was expecting.

I'm not too familiar with Thai food and just wanted to find an Asian restaurant to get an easy dinner with BF. We ordered pad kee mao and pad thai which we were sure we wouldn't go wrong with. Food was brilliant! My pad kee mao looked very appetizing and tasted like heaven. Then we ordered grilled chicken. A little too sweet for me but he liked it. Everything else looks good on the pictures. Food is a little on the pricy side but definitely coming back!

Found a new thai spot and what makes it better is that its in ktown. Dont worry its authentic so its bomb. Cool looking spot with real thai vibes. Best dish would be a tie between the charcoal cooked chicken and the pork neck. Also ordered the usuals such as the pad thai and pad see ew. Get the sticky rice too. The spicy red sauce looks pretty dangerous but its really good. Douse it.

I found them on yelp and ordered food for pickup but they didnt accept credit card, only cash. I didnt have cash with me so had to use their atm and pay transaction fees. What kind of restaurant doesnt accept card these days? And they should have told me when i ordered through phone. And of course when i got home, there was no napkins, folks or nothing in the bag. Great... Never going back.

Sis want to try out this place because of the good review from other yelpers also pictures of the foods looks delish. Well looks can be very deceiving. We ordered: tum sua papaya salad medium spice level (very tasty but very spicy for a medium). The thing I don't care for about this salad is the freakin tiny crab shell that got mix in and I bit into it while chewing on the papaya salad. Had to spit out the damn thing. Grilled pork neck was good but too salty Thai beef jerky was also good but had too many fatty on it Fermented pork ribs, eh way too salty. Only had one piece, didn't care for it Soop Nhor Maii (shredded bamboo salad). Again very spicy and salty. Really didn't care for it but both my sis like it except for the spicyness Pad Kee Mao (Drunkin noodle). Good but had weird smelly spice in it. Doesn't taste or smell like your usual pad Kee Mao Thai sausage was okay. Had better. Nothing special about it Sticky rice, expensive for such a small portion Service was okay. Friendly but they never check up on us to see if we need anything else. We had to get their attention for a glass of water because of all those hot spicy foods (which I like but my sisters can't handle it). All in all not worth the drive. Even if the foods does looks better than it taste

Glad I walked by this place and tried it. Had the papaya salad with raw blue crab and it was amazing ! I also found out the owners are Thai so this is good authentic Thai food. The waitress also recommended the herbal grass jelly dessert which was refreshing and healthy!

The servers were nice. The food came fast. All very good. The steak was a little too chewy, green curry chicken was good. The BEST part of the restaurant experience however is the incredible mural installations on the walls. The food was a little too greasy. Prices are very reasonable for quality and serving size.

I've been looking for a place that uses the fermented fish sauce in their papaya salad (Isaan/Lao style) and finally found it. I ordered for pick up so can't speak to their dine in service but the food I had was delicious. I ordered it on the eat24 app and came around 6pm after work. I easily found parking in their lot to pick up my order and it was ready when I arrived. I got the papaya salad with rice noodles dish very spicy, the deep fried sausages and sticky rice. The portions were a lot smaller than I expected for the price but nonetheless still delicious. I only ordered one sticky rice but definitely needed two. Unless you can handle spiciness that makes you sweat, I would stick to mild-medium spicy. I grew up on spicy food so the very spicy was perfect for me. Will return when I get my thammahung craving! :p

one of my favorite Thai places. Ive eaten here almost about over 10 times I always get the following: bbq pork neck:-- this is sOOO GOOD!! just thinking about it makes me want some.. its a MUST TRY minced pork with basil-- this is my bfs favorite dish. Just be careful when they ask you how spicy.. Thai spicy is SPICY!!! papaya salad-- really tasty and refreshing pad thai-- ok so this pad thai is not very sweet. so if you like the super sweet type. youll be disappointed. But if you dont like it tooo sweet you will appreciate this dish. green curry-- super savory -- again if you cannot handle spicy do not get anything above a medium. Definitely will keep ordering from this place :)

Delicious Authentic "isaan" Thai Food. My favorites are : Som Dtum Bhu Pla-Rah, Yum Hoy Kreng, Nam Dtok, and Tom Saab Kha Dhook Moo (These are the kind of dishes you'd want to get when you're at Isaan Station, save the Pad Thai for other Thai places) Wish it was close to my house, so I can eat here whenever I want! They make their dish spicy, so be careful when you ask for it. Their medium spicy is enough to bring tears to my eyes.

This thai restaurant is quite an interesting jewel. The food, from what I've experienced so far is pretty good. I will warn, if you're not prepared for spicy, don't get anything hotter than mild. The chefs keep it authentic and that means if you want spice, you gonna get Thai spicy. I got a medium spicy dish and accidently laughed after swallowing a small bite and the sensation was about half my experience taking that end bite of the trinidad scorpion. If you don't know peppers, look up hottest peppers in the world. It's #3. Anyways, I'm not sure what kinda peppers they use, but they're pretty up there. The ambiance is quite interesting. There are TV's that are constantly tuned into some sort of Thai/Kpop music video station. The servers are cute and polite. I'm guessing part of how they keep cost down is by being cash only, but I do know there are times when it does get busy. My friend who introduced me to this place lives around the corner and tells me that during basic dinner hours it gets pretty busy. Of course I've only been there on the later side and even then there's still people filtering in a few at a time.

Great food, awesome price (under $10) and parking available for customers. They have a very cute casual environment and the staff is very friendly. However bring cash. They don't accept credit cards.

I love that my people are doing big things! Isaan Station is probably one of the best Thai Restaurants on the West side. I rather like the pub style decor and friendly waitresses. I took the liberty of ordering for my group of friends and everything was beyond fantastic. Thai Papaya salad with raw blue crab legs were bomb! My friend couldn't get enough of the tangy and sweet sauce. She wouldn't even let the waitress take the dish away after they were all gone because she loves the sauce so much. Grilled Pork Neck was juicy and super tender as well as Fermented Spareribs. My friend ordered Spicy Basil Noodle, medium spicy and I have to say I really loved that too! Beef Jerky was our last dish of the night, and it tasted just like the ones I used to eat back home as a child. 5 plates and 7 Sticky Rice, we walked out of there much heavier and only $20 poorer (5 people). Isaan Station is definitely becoming my favorite spots to eat.

This place is so delicious and they aren't afraid to serve your dish nice and Thai hot. Staff is nice and friendly. Atmosphere is cool and clean. Menu is limited in that good way that makes you feel like they really want to focus on the quality and taste of the dishes they do serve. It's very meat-centric but they can substitute tofu for any dish. Plan your trip accordingly as they close for a couple of hours between lunch and dinner time.

This place is amazing. First off, it's cash only so come prepared. They have an ATM machine in their waiting area just in case. We ordered the Pad Kee Mao (w/ chicken) and the Kaeng Khew (w/ chicken). Our waitress asked how spicy I wanted. She offered mild, but most places mild means next to nothing heat. So, I asked for medium. Her eyes got big and asked if I was sure. I got excited and said "YES, LET'S DO THIS." Maybe, it didn't go exactly like that, but she did double check with me that I wanted it spicy. GDAMN, it was spicy, but soooooooooo good. Everything was cooked to perfection. I ordered some jasmine rice to help sop up the green curry and a thai ice tea to help cool down between bites. I would say that I died and went to heaven, but in reality, my masochistic self died and went to a delicious fiery hell. I'm sure they could tone it down as I often heard the waitresses asking everyone to rate the heat they wanted from 1-5. The other great thing about this place is that there is a parking lot with FREE valet. Definitely gonna come back and eat more. I'll be the guy sweating as I grub.

Catering review: Isaan Station catered our wedding in LA, and did an outstanding job. When deciding the menu, Isaan's staff took an hour to meet with us to discuss menu items, how many trays would suffice, and never tried to make us purchase more trays than would suffice for our guest list. We had plenty of food, and leftovers! Compared to 4-5 vendors of various cuisines we seriously considered, Isaan was the most price competitive, had the best flavor, quantity, and variety of dishes. Day of: the server brought a few team members, were on time with fresh, hot food, handled the crowds well, and overall went above and beyond. Yes, our most discerning guests enjoyed and complimented the food. Dine-in review: Great green curry with chicken. The price is 9.95. Add extra vegetables for $1 more. Jasmine rice is $1.50 more. Flavor is off the chart! Thai iced tea has strong flavor which I like. Cash only!

I've been a regular at Isaan Station since last year, I love everything here especially the antique radios hanging on the wall it makes me think of my grandma ( she owns one ). Food: Papaya salad: I've tried several of their papaya salad, the ones with blue crab is just standout but you'd ask yourself where is papaya I love the taste of the crab so I won't complain. My friends order papaya salad with fermented fish, I was a bit freak out cus I had bad experience while I was in Thailand but Isaan Station they know what they are doing!!! I'm telling you ... It's taste good and the smell is not as bad as some street food trolly in Thailand does. Grilled Pork Neck: it's so tender and flavourful and meat itself literally melts in my mouth. Their special house sauce is superb, if I could order it for take out that'd be very perfect, I always ask them if I can have some more. Yum Seafood: I love the way they cooked squid, some restaurant over cooked and some just undercooked which I think both are not good. Isaan Station knows how to cook the squid that give a fresh and kinda crispy and that's perfect in my opinion Pad Thai: I think Pad Thai is a typical Thai foods people think of, I mean every Thai restaurant has this on their menus so you just have to try it for yourself here. I like it. Service: Waitress are very friendly and welcoming, they greeted us upon arrival and willing to help us out with our questions. Sometimes we were there on a busy night and I can't handle that much spicy, they noticed and keep refilling my glass I am so happy :D Cash only but they do have ATM inside Valet parking.

Come here with friends who raving about this place a lot. We had papaya salad with pickel blue crab medium spicy, kor moo yung, spicy pork rib soup, bbq chicken, larp pork, sticky rice and tried their honey toast for our lunch. Papaya salad with raw crab : it is too spicy for me however, this is the best papaya salad I've ever had. I had tried the raw crab the first time. The crab itself taste very good. Shredded papaya is crispy and well blend in lime juice and chili. Kor moo yung : this pork dish is very delish. The sauce is tasty. Bbq chicken : we were told by the server here that it is a must item. Great bbq chicken ever!!! The chicken skin is well grilled not to hard not to soft but it is just great. I smell some Thai herbs ( I think) chicken is very tender, juicy and just delicious. It comes with sweet sauce and spicy sauce. My favorite one is the sweet sauce but my friends love the spicy sauce. Pork rib soup: I noticed that every tables order this kind of hot pot so we decided to skip our Tom Yum and tried the pork rib soup. OMG!! Forget about Tom yum. This soup is become my number one of my Thai food lists. Pork rib are tender and melt in my mouth. This is the best soup I've ever had in my life. Honey toast : this is also great but it takes time to make so my friend ordered it since we were seated. *they use real honey for the toast, thank you. Overall, this place is amazing and for sure I will definitely come back to try other items on the menu. I am very delight to know there is an authentic Thai restaurant is existing in LA. Tips : first time customer, you have to start with mild or medium spicy since they make their foods very spicy. : parking : valet parking, first 3 hours is free with validation.

I'm not sure I understand the rave reviews about this place. Hubby had been craving Thai food for a while so we were very excited to find and try this place (so close to home!). We got there early (around 5:30pm on a Friday) and it was pretty empty. The restaurant itself is pretty cute...clean, with an open layout (they have doors the length of one wall so it almost feels like you're eating outside with a view of the parking lot but still.). The decor is...eclectic, kinda kitschy. Hubby said he felt like he was in a restaurant in SE Asia (where his family is from). Only two other tables were occupied so we had our pick of tables. Our waitress was attentive and polite. From the reviews and tips on yelp, we ordered the papaya salad with preserved duck egg, crying tiger, pad thai, and shrimp fried rice for the kiddos. Honestly? With ALL of the food, we felt like it was slightly better than your usual Thai delivery but definitely not a 4 or 5 star quality. The papaya salad was salty without any of the usual punch that you expect. Crying tiger? I mean, it's steak. I don't understand the big deal. Pad thai was the usual...felt like I could've gotten it anywhere else and the same for fried rice. I wanted to try the honey toast everyone was raving about but they said they didn't have it that day. :( (We walked around the corner to the Bun Shop for their deep fried oreos instead!) All in all, I feel like we could've gotten much better in Thai Town. Oh well, lesson learned. Kiddo tip: At the time we went it was pretty empty so no issues about seating or waiting. I would leave the stroller in the car (valet parking is free) but if you must there's some room to park it in the front or back of the restaurant by the bathroom. Plenty of kid-friendly items (we ordered fried rice for our kids but got medium spice level for everything so they shared a bit of all of our dishes). **Oh and FYI, it's CASH ONLY.

This is a place where the Thais go for the real food from North-Eastern region of Thailand. The place was given award which very few received by some of Authenticated Certification by Thai Government agency (learned from the insider). Thailand has distinctive in food style and taste according to 4 regions. This one is stand out for the ISAN or NE Region of Thailand same as Cajun from the southern region of US. So do not looking for a typical fast food Thai Food like noodle dishes etc. American whom not used to Thai Food nor Southeast Asian cuisine may think the place is smelly, yes a smell of food not uncleanliness. I took a noticed the cooking staff have their hair covered since I read one comment about founding a hair in their food ( must be the patron's own hair). The place is clean. I went there to eat, not to admire the decor. I had a short ribs tip end soup( like Tom-Yum) and also papaya salad with salty eggs ( since I want to try a different version), pork neck barbeque to balance with the spiciness of the soup and salad and sticky rice . I had my papa salad according to my taste of sweet and sour less spicy. Ended the meal with Thai Ice Coffee. Wow!.....I was hooked. I will go back there even the inconvenient for parking, cash, and slightly cost a tad more than average Thai restaurants. All the Thais I had met at the restaurant agreed on authentic food, even some have to drive a long distance just to eat a real good food from the region here at Isaan Station.

" Isaan" in translation means "North East". According to my roommate who's grown up in Thailand all her life, a lot of the food produced at Isaan Station is pretty good and fairly unique because most of the flavors are inspired by North-Eastern style of cooking. Translation: it's one of the few places in LA where Thai food will be as close to authentic as you'll get. With that being said, I loved all the things I tried here, some of which include the Tom Yum with chicken, the Som Dtum Bhu Pla-Rha (green papaya salad with fermented fish), and the Khai Yang Ob Oong (charcoal grilled turmeric marinated chicken). I loved that the Tom Yum had clear notes of sour and spicy, which are a combination of flavors that are very reminiscent of Thai cooking. There was plenty of soup to share between two or three people, so I was glad to have leftovers from my meal. The chicken I remember as being very moist and tasty; a bit small of a serving but perfect for sharing between two alongside other dishes. As for the papaya salad, I loved that the fermented fish sauce added a pungent aroma to the dish (if you don't like briny flavors, you won't like this version of the papaya salad). The next time I'm around to get my hair done at Gino's, I'll be sure to come back here for some good Thai food. Notes: * Parking lot is small but available. * Cash only. * Service is lacking, but in all honesty, I don't mind. I'd much rather be left alone to enjoy my food. If you are a big service-oriented person, try to snag a table not too far from the cash register. * Thai is spoken very clearly here. English is passable. * Rice options are either steamed white rice or sticky rice. Sticky rice will be served in a special basket-like container to help keep the rice moist but it is highly discouraged that you take leftovers home as it won't be as tasty or sticky as time passes. * Come with a friend! Most of the foods are meant for sharing.

Isaan (Northeastern Thai) food is pretty abundant here in Thai Town Hollywood. Every other Thai restaurant has some sort of som tum (papaya salad), sai-krok Isaan (NE Thailand sausage), etc. Isaan Station is a pretty new Thai restaurant south of Hollywood/close to K-Town. I heard about this place from my friends. The Isaan food here is pretty decent. There are some dishes you wouldn't normally find at your usual Thai restaurant (pork spare rib hot and sour soup, grilled pork neck, pickled bamboo shoot spicy salad, etc.). The have good Isaan food here, my only gripe here was that the dishes were pretty small compared to their prices. I still gave I.S. 4 stars for the good tastes, minus 1 star for the higher prices. I liked I.S.'s open walk-in doors (or the lack of doors into the restaurant). It made the restaurant breezy and cool.

So, parking requires a miracle, and the place kinda smells like ammonia, BUT. The food is authentically perfect. The first time we went there, a couple months ago, my hub ordered something random off the menu. I would recommend to the reader that he or she would not do this. He chose a salad topped with fermented fish paste. THAT was authentic. We can't help being white-pasty Americans: we sheepishly sent it back and ordered a vegan pad-thai with extra vegetables. The servers apologized profusely; we felt so guilty!!! Then they sent out a complimentary quarter of duck; so crispy and juicy OH! My hub stuck his veganism, but hey, if the duck's already dead and perfectly roasted, right in front of me, should I let it be thrown out to the Freegans? But the vegan pad-thai was amazing too; you can tell they use fresh herbs and they sauteed the veg perfectly. Now we go back about every other week, and we always order a vegan pad-thai with extra sauteed veg, and the green curry with tofu (I WOULD HIGHLY recommend the green curry!), and we always leave happy! Oh, and the last time we went there, they had a "special" for dessert. One can always be adventurous with dessert. It was listed as "herbal jelly." The picture my imagination provided was totally off; it was cubed jell-o, topped with crushed ice and a tablespoon of brown sugar. The "herbal" part meant that the jell-o itself was made from some kind of a strong herbal tea, and the herb blend they invented was intended to elicit calm feelings and help with digestion. After two bites, my stomach felt peaceful. I don't know how else to describe it. The dessert itself was refreshing and tasty; not at all rich or exciting. I slept sooooo well that night.

These guys delivered food to us on Thanksgiving day and while I was placing our order over the phone, the lady gave me the option to pay with a credit card. I'm guessing they have a payment processing machine now, which is definitely good. I can respect people who try to improve their business and service. The food was delicious and for that, I'm updating my review and giving them 5 stars.

Great Thai spot in ktown. I ordered the pad thai with shrimp. It was good. Not too sweet or overwhelming with flavors. The som thai salad was superb. The mild was spicyyyyy, even for me that likes spice. It was really good. They deliver!

Who in downtown Los Angeles does not accept credit cards? These guys don't. Amazing that they were able to have such a large number of reviews written considering all the business they have turned away. For being considered to be so authentic, I wouldn't have expected to see a $3 fee ATM being the first thing I saw when I walked in. If they decide to get with the times, I'll gladly try their food.

We were so impressed with the service and the food from this Thai restaurant. There is another very well known Thai restaurant that we usually frequent in Hollywood. But now we will not be going there. We will be coming here. We came here on a Thursday night and it was very crowded. The wait was 15 minutes. But it was worth it . The food was delicious. The only reason I'm taking away one star is bc they don't accept credit cards. it's cash only, and the parking lot is very very small... it's best to park on the street.

This place is located in ktown, and obviously parking is craziness. Restaurant by itself is quite new to this mall . I think this mall has a serious problem with sewage or whatever. It smells like sewage. Seriously nasty! But we heard so many good things about foods here so we decided to eat. We ordered papaya salad with mild sauce , pad seew w/beef and beef thai bbq. Foods were great. All three items were far above my expectations. Portions are about what you'd expect from a thai place. The price is cheap. Their papaya salad is fiery hot but very tasty. If you like spicy food, it is must. Loved it! I will definately go back for tom yum kung soup.

Five star Thai food in L.A. They deliver, which is great, although they only accept cash, if you order via phone. I think you can use your credit card to pay for the order, if you order online, but for some reason, you can't choose non-meat options online. Since we always order dishes with tofu, no meat, we always have to order in person via phone and have the cash ready in advance, which can be a hassle, but it's all worth it, because the dishes are flavorful, spicy and delicious. The must order dishes are: 1. Papaya salad 2. Pad khi mao 3. Pad see ew Keep in mind, if you like spicy, you should probably order mild, because mild at Isaan is spicy at other restaurants. So, spicy at Isaan..??!! You get the idea. I'd say, thus far, the best Thai food you can get anytime you want in the neighborhood. We haven't dined in, yet, but someday, we will.

ordered pad see ew, pad thai, and tom yum soup. pad see ew and pad thai were around $9.95 each, the taste was OK, not bad but not great. The portion was wayyyyy to small for that price. But tom yum soup was excellent. Ordered spicy and it was actually spicy. Also service was not that great, Had to go up to the counter to ask for the utensil, and check .

Legit issan food. It's so saap saap (yummy). If your palate thinks that Banana Bay, Noodle World, or Mix Bowl is good Thai food then you might want to think again about coming here. They don't cater to the demographics or try to fusion it up. This is what you would get if you were in northeast Thailand. They don't mess around with the spiciness either, medium spicy had me sweating. I haven't been to a Thai restaurant that had so many different style papaya salad either. Kudos! ***cash only but they do have an ATM machine***

  • Daryl C.

This place is AMAZING! I got the Lao style papaya salad... super dank. Just the way I like it. I only suggest it if you can handle that fishy fermented taste in food. I got that and Gang Ohm (I think that's what it was). It's basically a Dill Soup, like my mom used to make! It was a bit salty for my taste, but nothing the two sides of sticky rice wouldn't soak up for me :) They only had grass jelly desert available at the time, and it was AMAZING. I know, you're probably thinking 'Grass Jelly? It's just sweetened grass jelly right?'. IT IS... but it's home made grass jelly with the perfect amount of firmness too it. They throw it in a bowl with brown sugar and crushed ice. I was super full, but I still had to smash on at least half of that dessert. Best choice ever.

Fresh back from Thailand, found it fun to have something as delicious here as there. Immediately upon walking in, the smell of spices and flavors immediately reminded me of my trip. The food was delicious, flavorful, and authentic. If you want a taste of Thailand, come here!!

I'm Thai. I went here because my friend recommend it. The food here is the east-north style. My favorite plates are Marinated pork rip (Nam), Tom Saab Kra Dhook Mhoo, Poh Taek and Som Dtum Khai Khem. Food here is really authentic. The taste is the best even in Thailand, it is hard to find the decent place like this. I always come back here again and again.

Was gonna give this place 5 stars because their food is really tasty--au-bloody-thentic Thai and parking is super easy but they only take cash and no cards!!! We had Somtam with blue crabs, grilled pork neck with spicy dipping sauce, hot and sour Tom Zaab soup, and coconut water. Just like what I got in Thailand!

Pleasantly surprised to find this place. I love Thai food and I'm picky about where I go for Thai but isaan station did not disappoint. Had the drunken noodles (pad khee mao) and the crying tiger. The crying tiger was DELICIOUS the steak almost melts in your mouth. The dish is only $7.95 and you get a favorable portion of meat. The atmosphere is quite unique. I would say it's half hipster half Thai. Neat place to go for great Thai food. Definitely will be back to try other things on the menu. BTW, It's CASH ONLY so make sure to stop by an ATM before you go.

Simply the worst. Have been to few thai places but is so not worth going. Ask for water: they give you tap water Pad thai? No. So plain Servers don't speak much English so you need to tell them that you want to order something at least three times for them to understand. I wouldn't eat here again.

  • Toshiro K.

You can't throw a stone in LA without hitting some hipster who will orgasm your ear over how he knows where to get "authentic" Thai cuisine...but sadly, they never do. Nothing has come close to actual Thai food since moving here a few years back from Hong Kong...until now... I've been to all the Thai Town spots and some in Alhambra. My Thai friends say that they only cook at home for this reason. And let's thank LA-white meat society for the endless supply of dried out chicken dishes in Thai restaurants. In fact, it's just the hipster social climbing vacation destination of days past that ruined Thai food in LA with little princesses demanding "authentic" PF Chang style Thai food that they remember with fondness from the hotel they stayed at...or burnt out on the beach with their happy high friends... Anyway, Isaan Station is the real deal. Delicious flavors. Incredibly strong smells that I haven't inhaled since coming here, amazing spice...and by far, the best tasting Chicken I have had in LA after Savoy in Alhambra...incredible... Run by a couple who were fed up with not being able to find a Thai restaurant to eat at...wonderful and attentive service. If you don't dig real Asian food and smells...this isn't your spot so don't bother, but if you want the real, actual authentic deal done right - then you have a new favorite restaurant...

So I was a bit wary of this place seeing how at 7pm on a Saturday night there was only a handful of people. It's also pretty dark inside, maybe so you can't tell how empty it is? But decided to give it a go since it had decent ratings on Yelp. We asked the server for a minute so we could peruse the menu. After about 10 minutes, when we were at the verge of hunting him down, he stops by...hmm, there's only 2 other tables filled, what are we doing back there, friend?...already kinda annoyed. I ended up getting the crying tiger with an order of sticky rice. Shouldn't rice come standard with a meat dish? Meh. The food was OK. Meat was tender, small portion, mildly seasoned. Overall, wasn't very impressed, especially for the price since we all ended up paying $10+. Had to snack afterwards at home to actually feel semi-full :( Probably not going back. For the price, I'd rather go to Thai Original BBQ across the street. Yes, a chain. Sad.

I love that there is a place like this available in LA. I love Thai street food. Although I am a vegetarian, they have some options for us whom are. You just have to ensure they know. Anyway, the unfortunate thing is they had messed up our order some and even forgot one of the items we ordered. For one, I wanted vegetarian papaya salad which the waitress pointed out saying they will omit the shrimp too. Too bad that the dish came with shrimp. Oh yeah, if you order spicy, it is HOT!!! As great as that is, there was no warning. I would have wished that the waitress could have said it is Thai extra spicy. I love spicy food, but I was not expecting open mouth, heavy breathing, and tears inducing hot. Now I know in case I want to eat something that hot, I can order so here. Anyway, my friend also ordered his own papaya salad with crab, but they brought him the wrong type of papaya salad with the crab he did not like (blue type). Considering there are two types listed on the menu, this is one other place where the waitress could have confirmed the dish. The flavors of my dishes were good, so I give them that. We had also ordered it without MSG, so that says something. I will go back here again for sure and get it a little over medium for spice and a few other things. For now, this review is based on my one visit.

Well, I've gone back a few more times, and I think I have found a favorite Thai restaurant... their food is really, really good. Favorites... larb moo, crying tiger, kaeng khew, som tum. seafood salad. Holy $*#&% this food is good. And spicy. 5/5 Coming back over and over please

I've only tried a few places in K-town for thai food but I keep coming back to this place! I always get the pad Thai extra spicy (and it really is!) and the crying tiger and so far I haven't been disappointed. I've only gotten delivery but it's generally been really quick which is awesome for me. Definitely check this place out!

The food was pretty good actually but the service was awful. Asked for a water never brought , never checked on us and I asked for a box for our leftovers. Surprisingly the server brought us a box and then look away all of our leftovers while I was paying the bill. Providing good services just seems like such an easy process. I don't get it....

Tucked in a busy little shopping center. Has a handy dandy ATM, but I think they also accept debit cards. Cute, thai-urban modern decor. Very nice and attentive staff. It's bigger than you would think. Fresh Coconut not on the menu, but worth ordering. My friend loved the "Crying Tiger" spicy steak served with , what I can only describe as homemade A-1. I thought the meat had a very good taste but was a little chewy for me, Mira had no such issue with the texture and she's easily troubled by that so I defer to her on that call. I'll be back to explore their menu a bit more it's not the same style thai you get other places. But be warned they do not take the word "spicy" lightly. We had medium and were sweat/crying in our curry. It was worth it! Parking can be a witch.

shrimp pad thai regular and medium-spicy beef kaeng khew (green chili) were choices of the evening, along with thai iced coffee and a side of jasmin rice. something about both dish rubbed me the right way. my daughter seemed to like the jasmin rice but the mild pad thai even had a little bit of kick to it so she couldn't really have anything but the rice.. pretty big mistake on my part. i should've gone for the crying tiger or something else totally not spicy. i still have leftover kaeng khew in my fridge and i am looking forward to finishing them tomorrow.

My dad and his side of the family is from Northeastern Thailand, so yes I grew up eating Isaan food back home in Chicago. I was very excited to find this place opened up in K-Town and had to give it a try: best decision ever. The Gai Yang (Grilled Chicken) was spot on, with all the aromas of back home in Thailand, served with a sweet and also a saltier soy sauce. The sticky rice was steamed perfectly and served in a traditional wicker basket (little details I know, but I feel like it makes a difference). Also had the Nam Tok Pork and Gang Nor Mai (Bamboo Salad/Soup). Everything was seasoned to perfection. The Thai iced tea was a bit too sweet for me, but I think that is the norm at any Thai restaurant no matter whether in US or in Thailand. Definitely found a new regular place for me to eat in LA.

Spicy goodness to be had here. Great food, atmosphere, and people! I had the spicy glass noodles. The food here was a nice change from the usual Thai fare. It had a great tanginess to it, which really played off the heat. To top it all off, the service was great as well. Bottom line, its well priced and some of the best Thai food I've ever had. Will definitely be back to try more.

This place is so good we have cravings for it. We ordered the papaya salad and found it to be one of the authentic thai restaurants in the LA area. We live in Alhambra but can't find anything quite like this place. Parking could be a problem but do not let it prevent you from coming here!!

By far the worst Thai food I've ever had. Poor excuse for pad thai. They literally took "Cup of Noodles" and made a bootleg pad thai out of it with those little dried shrimp you feed to your pet fish. The grilled chicken was... meh. More skin, fat, and bone on it than meat. Overpriced, cash only restaurant. Do yourself a favor and go to "Thai BBQ" instead.

Well damn, I'm bummed to learn about this place right before moving. A little piece of NYC-convenience in KTown: online (accurate) ordering, quick delivery, and seriously guys, the food is so flavorful. Unlike some Thai restaurants that undoubtedly use powered and pre-made sauces, Issan's food is fresh. You don't feel heavy afterward, and usually wish you ordered more for lunch the next day. I'm getting hungry...

I come here whenever I miss home and Thai food. Fast service and delicious/authentic isaan food! I ordered crying tiger, chicken wings, yum moo yor. Be careful though if you can't eat spicy, make sure you know Thai level of spicy. Also got my favorite dessert, herbal grass jelly! Yum! Oh, and cash only.

Came here last week with some friends, and we just ordered a bunch of stuff, so got to try a lot of different dishes. Not a single one was bad, but I certainly had my favorites. The minced pork larb and crying tiger were definitely the standouts. The grilled pork neck, BBQ pork larb, and grilled chicken were also pretty good. The only dish I'd skip next time around was the marinated deep fried beef. It wasn't as crispy as I would have imagined, and the flavor didn't quite make up for the toughness. Other than that, this place is fantastic. Only other downsides are that it's cash only, and there's no booze (and no BYOB), which some in my group griped about. But in the end, those are kinda forgivable, especially when you can eat like a glutton for less than $20 (including tip).

Isaan food is my favorite type of Thai food. There are 4 regions in Thailand and Isaan is another name for the northeastern area. The food is more similar to Laotian food and is usually more sour and spicy than other areas. This is also the area responsible for papaya salad or som tum. So when I saw a restaurant opened named Isaan Station, I couldn't wait one more minute to visit. The restaurant is located in the middle of Koreatown. They have valet parking in the lot. The restaurant is new and has an interesting decoration. I ordered the papaya salad, grilled pork neck, grilled chicken, nam tok beef and chicken larb. All the dishes were delicious. Their papaya salad actually tastes like it's supposed to. So many Thai restaurants here really mess up papaya salad but Isaan Station really knows how to make it. The pork neck and grilled chicken also tasted amazing. The seasoning were delicious and the dipping sauce was great. The price is a little steep for Thai food. Although most dishes cost about $8, the portions are small. The chicken order was the worst deal by far. I got about 8 teeny tiny chopped up pieces of chicken for about $8. The pork neck was a much better deal. I ordered drinks to go and they tasted good. The problem is they didn't have any drink holders! I regretted ordering 4 drinks to go for my friends. I hope they solve that problem soon.

My fiancé is half Thai and his grandmother used to own a Thai restaurant so you could just imagine how particular we are about authentic Thai food. Isaan Station easily beats out any Thai restaurant located in Thai town and the surrounding area. Some of the dishes we always order to determine how good a place is are the Pad See Ew, Larb chicken, Pad Kra Prow, and Yum Nua (beef salad). They are all amazing here with the Pad Kra Prow being my favorite. It is made the authentic way with minced meat (though they do offer sliced) and the flavoring is so rich. Larb is my fiancé's favorite dish served with sticky rice and it's very hard for him to eat here without ordering something different. They allow you to choose a spicy level with most dishes (1-10) and he usually gets somewhere between 7-8. It's pretty damn spicy and he has a high tolerance. Besides the great food I have to mention the staff, especially the really nice waitress, Jiang (sorry if I spelled your name wrong!). She's there all the time and you can't miss her. She remembers our names and even our usual dishes. She's super nice and very friendly. Please make sure you say hello to her. Other than that, the atmosphere is very nice. It's modern and clean with ample seating (huge booths and comfy chairs). The parking lot is shared with Boba Time and Paris Baguette so it's a bit small and cramped. There are metered parking all around so you'll be good! Oh, one last thing, CASH ONLY and they do have an ATM inside.

spicy!!! even mild plus spicy level had my eyes watering. the green curry is sweet and creamy, not like that powdered stuff. pad Thai and papaya salad also very good. cons: rice doesn't come with any dishes, so it's an extra 1.50 if you want rice. also fish sauce wings not worth the price

My girlfriends and I ordered the papaya salad, crying tiger, pad Thai and chicken curry for a mommys night out.. Everything was DELICIOUS! I loved the medium spicy papaya salad it had a crunchy, spicy bite.. The waitresses were all very attentive and made sure that our cups were always full and that we were taken care of. My favorite Thai restaurant!!

Delicious food and the service was like lightning. I mean really fast! Wife claimed it's better than the fifteen Thai restaurants we eat at in NYC. Just be careful of the tom yum soup. Your taste buds will be happy but your mouth will be on fire. Sorry tom Kai gai is not served here.

I got the papaya salad with pickled blue crab ($9.76 w tax) and found myself digging through the generous amount of crab to find some salad--jackpot!!!! Super tasty crab with lots of tender flesh (note--like korean gaejang, this isn't cooked but pickled, so expect a jelly-like consistency that's absofuckinglutely delicious). Papaya salad was perfect blend of sour/salty/sweet with lots of juice to dip the crabmeat into. Was afraid the green beans were actually chilis but fear not! They were actually really just green beans. (Felt kind of silly looking at the carefully picked out mound of not-chilis. Faux-chilis?) Be a little careful of crab shell debris in the salad, but I'm sure you can handle yourself from dying from them. I'm a spice whore (literally do not know anyone who eats spicer than I do) but I really enjoyed the mild spicy on the salad. Gives just a little bit of good heat that complements the rest of the flavors versus a whoa HAWT like I usually like.

If you're a fan of your typical Thai, Takeout/Delivery Isaan certainly fits the bill. However, feeling adventurous, you'd be remiss to pass up Isaan to try some lesser-known, Northern Thai food. At the recommendation of the Yelp hivemind, I tried the green papaya salad and the Grilled Pork Neck and sticky rice. The salad was cold, crunchy, and spicy. They'll ask you how much heat you like when you order, I'd recommend going a notch less than what you're used to. The grilled pork was also very tasty, and went well with the sweet sauce you get with your order. Service was also excellent.

So EFFIN DELICIOUS! I got delivery here & tried the papaya salad & pad thai. Omfg.. BEST friggin papaya salad on the face of this planet. Perfectly spicy, tangy & orgasmic. The salad was sliced super thin which I loved. Pad thai was out of this friggin world. Noodles were thinner than normal, which I also loved. It came out almost wet, which I friggin loved. Hate it when pad thai comes out super dry. I'm soOoOo coming back here.. like all the time

My original review of Isaan Station was during it's first week open, and it was a low rating, but after all my Thai friends kept pointing me back I finally decided to give it another chance and they have definitely changed my mind. It's awesome to have a restaurant in the US featuring legit Isaan Thai cuisine in all it's stinky and spicy glory.

Even though Thai Town is only a few miles away, I'm glad for this new addition to the Ktown Thai food scene. It blows its direct competition out of the water. This shopping plaza (with a Paris Baguette/Tom N Toms) used to be neglected but with the new addition of several businesses, the parking is now valet only (standard in Ktown). We were lucky enough to find some street parking nearby and headed for Isaan Station. Unlike some Thai restaurants that are stuffy and traditional, Isaan is hip, contemporary and fun. You can catch up on your Thai pop music and try some flavorful Thai dishes at the same time. We went with the recommendations of spicy grilled pork served with lettuce and a tangy rib soup. Both were excellent and reasonably priced (although it is a tad more expensive than Thai town). Two dishes and two orders of rice was perfect for our dinner. I'm excited to come back and further explore the menu.

Great food and great people. Service was excellent and insightful as we learned that Isaan dishes differ from typical Thai. After 2 trips to Thailand, I was completely unaware of this provincial difference. Excellent meal and will come again. Cash only but was told they are working on the whole credit card issue.

All i can say about this place is WOW-the food was very very good. Seriously...one of the BEST Thai restaurant i have ever been to. Everything i have tried was perfect. I wish i could give them more than 5 stars. The only thing that made me sad-this place was too far from my house. If not i'll come here at least once a week. But i promise i will stop by as much as i can. ^_^

Pretty underwhelmed with my pad thai. The noodles are clumpy and skinny. The egg in it a little funky. There are tiny tiny baby shrimp that I thought were something else entirely, then relieved and then ultimately still grossed out by. I feel like I had it before and it was better with normal thicker noodles. I'm not entirely sure. Presentation is lacking. I don't make a lot of money so this was a midweek splurge and I feel disappointed in my choice. On the plus side the serving staff -- super nice women.

I went to Isaan Station with a group of my family and friends based on a recommendation of a Thai friend who lives in LA. Most of us are from Thailand, so we were really looking forward to a meal of Northeastern Thai dishes. Isaan Station the lone Thai restaurant in a small shopping complex along with Paris Baguette and other Korean businesses. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, which seems to be the case with most places in LA, but we managed to find street parking relatively close by. The decor of the restaurant is simple but fun and colorful. The menu has a large selection of Isaan dishes that you would not find at other Thai restaurants. We got a variety of dishes, including som tum (papaya salad), som tum with kai kem (papaya salad with salted egg), nam tok (spicy beef salad), and gai yaang (BBQ chicken). Isaan cuisine is usually super flavorful, spicy, and zaab (which means mouth-wateringly good in Isaan). I could honestly eat som tum, larb or nam tok, and sticky rice every day. But Isaan Station left me wanting more; the flavors seemed muted, unbalanced, and the dishes tasted more on the bland side. Service was friendly but not terribly attentive. Isaan Station is a good place for someone who wants to explore Thai food beyond the usual offerings in most Thai restaurants. Go with a big group, so you can sample many dishes from their huge menu. It is a newer place, so I'm hoping that the cooks work out their kinks, taste their food a little more, and turn out bold flavors like Isaan food is supposed to be.

Just ordered delivery with this facility. Ordered the chicken pad thai and kaeng khew. The noodles for the pad thai were thinner than typical pad thai noodles, which got me a little excited, but was not all that great. I also think the food is way overpriced for the quality of food that you get. On another note, I just looked at my bill and they added a $4 tip without my permission, despite me leaving a cash tip. Will not be ordering from here again. I feel like you could easily find something better

Good Thai food. Usually when I go to a Thai restaurant, I know the safest bet is usually Pad Thai and Pad Ki Mow. But...they usually are pretty similar. Thus, I often don't get those. I usually go for the curry (where I can better spot subtleties) or a dish called Crying Tiger. I ordered Crying Tiger beef when I got here. This is in a little restaurant square in K-town, right next to Tom and Tom's Coffee (The Starbucks of K-Town). The parking is valet after a certain time, as the area gets crowded. A small-to-medium sized interior, a group of 4-6 should fit fine. Interior is clean and sleek and brightly colored. There's a TV that plays Thai music. It feels a little bit like a Boba place (I think maybe they serve that too). The service is super-friendly. So, I tried the Crying Tiger. Nicely spicy without drowning out the flavor. Slightly salted to flavorful completeness. The beef was fresh and firm and the veggies on the side were fresh and crisp. I ordered sticky rice on the side, which came in a covered bowl made of bamboo leaves. Very cute. Tasted sticky and roasted--went well with the beef. I enjoyed the food. I will have to come back to try out some of the other stuff in the menu. Perhaps the curry?

Went there for lunch during teacher training bc Korean BBQ across street was super packed n didn't look too appetizing. Plus this place had an "a" rating. Place was clean and waitress very welcoming. I had grilled beef and it was good. My friends had a chicken plate and a noodle plate. They both liked their dishes. Sticky rice was extra. It was good but I wish it was included in meal. I shared a serving with a friend. It was ok but it should just be included. Anyhow, food was good. I asked for spiciness half way (5 of 10) and it was just right. I suggest you start there and if you want spicier just ask waitress. We all had Thai iced tea which was great. Place was clean and cool Thai pop played on screens. Lol.

Asked them clearly for the dish to be "not spicy". It came EXTREMELY SPICY. INEDIBLY SO. After two requests they finally redid the dish, but INCLUDED RED CHILI FLECKS again, so sure enough it was STILL (VERY) SPICY. The first time we came here, they made a similar dish completely not spicy at our request, but I guess they are no longer interested in a pleasant customer experience.

Visiting my daughter in LA for Thanksgiving & found Isaan Thai restaurant open. We were so thankful to find such a great place open on Thanksgiving. The owners, Kevin & his beautiful wife Jang were so nice & made us feel so welcomed. We loved the shrimp Pad Thai noodles & the Crying Tiger was very tasty. And if you want a delicious dessert, I would recommend sharing the honey fried bread. But you need to order at the beginning of your meal because it takes 25 minutes to bake.

Great authentic thai flavors!!! I am a regular here two to three times a week. My favorite and also must try dishes are "pad ki mau" with shrimp and chicken( I call it "taste of heaven ") ,green curry( I've been a big fan of green curry even before I try this place, but try their green curry! With their yummy sticky rice, you will find true taste of how is the green curry should be! :) Since they serve very authentic thai cuisine here, Some flavors could be bit strong and spicy to non- thai customers like me. Since I tried almost every dishes here, I would like to recommend some easy dishes to non-thai 1st comers These menus are strongly recomended that will make you come back over & over! * pad ki mau ( request a mild with sticky rice) * beef jerky fried rice * green curry ( request of mild/ my favorite topping tofu&chicken= ridiculously addicting!) * pork jerky & crying tiger especially with sweet source( upon request ) They are too good to be missed ! I truly have a general standard taste for dinner experiences I think, Once you try those dishes I listed, it's just impossible to not come back to this great restaurant :)

This is closest to northern Thai flavors. I highly recommend this place to one who loves northern Thai cuisine. The food here is different than your normal Thai food. If yr a huge fan of northern Thai cuisine ....this is the spot to go to. Oh yeah..Don't forget to bring yr sweatband ...the food here is freakin spicy. Request yr food the level of spiciness...if u don't ,make way for a natural forehead waterfall.

It's hard to get me to go to K-town for anything other than Korean food, but Isaan Station has flipped the script. Hidden gem, fairly new in town but I'm willing to bet that the word will soon be out in a big way about the fantastic, authentic, north-eastern thai cuisine served here by friendly owners. After seeing some buzz in a local LA mag, we headed down on a Friday night and tried several things on the menu. Everything was delicious with a lovely spice and depth throughout, but the papaya salad and pork jerky were standouts. Will be visiting again soon to try even more menu items. Added bonus, they serve mexican coke products! Jonathan Gold, where you at?

Was in the plaza at the cell phone store and decided to come here for dinner. I noticed the good reviews on yelp so figured it was worth a shot. After quickly looking through the yelp tips and reviews we order the grilled pork neck and the pad see ew with chicken. All the food came out pretty quickly. We were slightly disappointed with the smaller portions however after the first taste, we were pleased. The grilled pork neck is tasty, and the sauce is delicious! The pad see ew was good as well. Better than your typical thai place. I'm not familiar with truly authentic thai food but this place is pretty good. Prices are a bit higher, portions are a bit smaller, but taste is great and its really close to my apartment. Will definitely come back and try other menu items.

I came here on a weekday evening for dinner and the place was practically deserted. Located in a busy strip mall (admittedly, what in LA is not?), Isaan is a new addition to the Koreatown Thai food scene. My friends and I ordered the pork rib soup, deep fried pork jerky, grilled pork neck, and the spicy stir-fried beef. Pork rib soup: Classic traditional Thai soup. Lots of broth with the usual Thai spices and herbs. Some mushrooms, too. I liked how the ribs sort of melted in your mouth. Presentation was cool, too, because it comes out in a big metal container but the ladle is too small for the space. Deep fried pork jerky: Probably my favorite dish of the night. There's no batter so don't expect a big crunch, but the smokiness of the jerky and the tangy-ness of the dipping sauce complement each other well. And who can go wrong with deep fried anything? Grilled pork neck: Was expecting this to come out on skewers but it came out as slices, kind of like Cantonese cha siu. Not especially remarkable. Spicy stir-fried beef: Our waitress told us that this was medium spice level, which was allegedly intense for western palettes. As a spice wimp, I proudly handled this dish bite by bite. Not really a big fan. Portions were about average. I wasn't super stuffed when I left but somewhat content. Service: Our waitress asked if it was our first time dining there. Given how long they've been open, I thought the answer was obvious. She was very helpful in going over each section of the menu, answering all of our questions, and diligently filling our water glasses. Somewhat awkward when she asked if we were Korean and suggested the dishes her Korean customers tend to like more. Bottom line: When I think street food, I tend to think skewers and other snackies. This place is more like another Thai restaurant with some interesting dishes you don't see elsewhere.

Please do not read my vulgar review if you have a sensitive nature. Why am I posting a review around 3:30am? Thamaaaaaay? Prowaaa ki dtaak. That's why. I cannot believe they serve som tam bpoo bpla raah. So amazingly awesome! I had two bites, really, only two before I started to feel like I was taking a shower from the inside out. I had to stop eating it, but I wasn't stupid. I wanted it for glap baan. And yes, I woke up because of discomfort. Took care of business, and ate the rest of it. Arroy maak maak! Yaay for putrefied (not petrefied) fish and raw crab! The som tam had the tiniest bits of lime with rind on it. Excellent. Excellent. Excellent. The khor moo yaang, excellent as well. Even the sauce was fantastic. I've usually only had it watery...but I.S. has a thicker, stickier sauce, mmmm, haven't had it waan nit noy before. I wish I had ordered phet glaang for my first time there. Totally my fault for killing myself. I am used to having to order phet maak maak when I am stateside. I am tempted to come back in a few hours. :D Maybe to try sai krok, and something else. I sadly do not have friends I can take here... well, I do, but they certainly don't live in this country.

Green Curry, Papaya Salad, Pad Mee Kiew (sp?) were all plentiful and super delicious. Friendly server who took my take out order gently steered me away from the larb (I think she thought I couldn't handle it, she probably knows better than I.) I would definitely go back again to try more stuff on the menu.

I'm originally from Thailand and I can say that this place has a very very original Thai taste dishes, specially isaan (Northeastern) food. Very consistent with taste. A little overpriced compared to the food portion with other Thai restaurants with the same menu. Recommend this place for anyone who wanna taste the real Northeastern food.

Our new favorite thai restaurant in hollywood! We just got back from thailand a few months ago and we're craving the street style food of Bangkok. This place really hit the spot with the papaya salads, grilled pork neck, and street style pad thai. Don't forget to save room for the honey toast. Don't ask just order it! The best Thai food outside of Thailand! It's spicy though, hold onto your butts! Nice waitresses, reasonable prices, just a great low key spot to get some no-nonsense food. This is one of my standard spots to take out of town visitors.

This is an authentic Isaan style Thai restaurant, as the name implies. Its just odd that it is situated in K town. It would probably be much busier in Thai town because Thai folks would definitely come in droves for the home taste. The vibe is chill with current Thai MTVs playing on big-screen, and service is sweet and welcoming. Majority of customers are Thai despite the location (always a reliable sign of good ethnic food if the ethnic people themselves visit). Fortunately or unfortunately, it seems never to be full. Now the food: highly recommended is the Isaan staple "som tom" or green-papaya style. It is one of the best if not the best in LA and would stand its ground in Bangkok (Bangkok is not in Isaan though, I have not eaten in Isaan in the northeast of Thailand bordering Laos so cant tell if their som-tom would be as good as in their native Isaan). But be careful, they serve their dishes authentically spicy (you can tell them your preference on a scale of 1-10, but even an 8 is fiery spicy by Thai standards). Another favorite dish is Tom Sep (spicy sour soup) which is bursting with spices, that even my Thai friend says that its hard to prepare because of the variety of authentic Thai herbs involved to get the taste right and flavour saturated like this. They serve other usual staples of Thai food like Pad Thai, but we haven't tried those here to comment. Price is decent. Afterthought: dessert is meh but you are not coming to a Thai restaurant for dessert, are you ? There are plenty of boba and shaved ice parlors in the area that you can go to chill your tongue after the spicy meal here.

You would expect this place to have authentic delicious street food by reviews and restaurant name. It was expensive and alright... If the food is going to be mediocre, at least be better priced.

Really friendly service, but okay food for expensive pricing. The bamboo shoot salad had a thick sauce that made it difficult to taste the bamboo shoot. The green curry and tom yum soup were okay. The grilled pig neck was delicious, juicy, and flavorful. This was the best item we ordered. I'm not sure about coming back when there are cheaper Thai restaurants in Thai town for the same or better quality food. I guess this place is unique because it's located in Koreatown and can be very convenient for locals craving Thai food.

Hard to tell. The restaurant looked cool; more traditional Thai ambiance with authentic wait staff. Nice plaza too but we ordered to go. Pad thai was good. Their spice is for real. But the fried rice didn't stick. Very interesting taste which I just didn't like. I want to try it again tho and dine in

I tried ordering out, I live a block away. They close at midnight but told me the kitchen closes at 11:45. My time said 11:40pm. Lost me there. Wish we had more of a New York City feel to this city. Everyone closes early and no one is willing to go over the top for the customer.

My man is really into the Isaan Station. In fact, he was one of the first to eat here and I tried so hard to get him to write a review. Right after I got home he took me here. It's a super weird restaurant. Really bright with natural light and very minimalist as far as decor. Also, there are these (Thai?) music videos playing the entire time and I can't understand anything that's happening but it's super funny. The menu is odd too. It's a giant menu with a stock only a little higher than paper. There are these huge bright pictures all over it. And I dunno, it's hard to explain. But trust me, weird. The staff seemed to be sort of confused on who was supposed to take care of us and what not. We kept getting a new person every time that would ask the same questions as the staff before them. They are definitely hurting for some organization. CP got the drunken noodles at a medium heat scale and a little pod of sticky rice. I had the pad thai. CP's noodles were good and spicy. He enjoyed it a lot. I liked it too but preferred my pad thai. The pod of white rice came in this tiny wicker basket. It was very cute and very tasty. Pad thai was some of the best I'd ever had in the beginning. I was really chowing down until I was brought to a halt by what appeared to be a tiny little maggot in my food. Don't be alarmed. I did some research and starred really hard until I realized that this pad thai comes with dried shrimp. Now, I have no idea why anyone would ever use dried shrimp. I'm sure it's a standard part of many cuisines but it's really not a thing for me. It totally brought this meal from a high four to a middling three for me. I'm seriously anti dried shrimp. It dramatically altered the texture of any bite and it's weird hard, flavorlessness was just absurd. I think we would be better off if they used either real shrimp or none at all. Dried shrimp... blech. As you can see from my tiny rant, things were great until they were not. I imagine if I went back I would either order it without the shrimp or have another dish all together. It's just not my thing.

what I ordered on grub hub: 1 Poh Taek Soup $ 14.95 1 Yum Woon Sen Ta Lay Salad $ 11.95 1 Pad Thai $ 9.95 Subtotal $36.85 Delivery $0.00 Tax $3.32 Tip $0.00 TOTAL $40.17 "" I order thai food almost every other day & unfortunately have to write this I never write bad reviews. so to start out I was told they would arrive in 45mins then I wanted to go to the store to buy drinks I went. They arrived 20 mins earlier that's ok but they should deliver when they say they will I want my food to hot. I ordered the soup medium spicy it's supposed to be a hot/sour lemongrass/ lime juice soup not a WATER & HOT SAUCE SOUP the broth had no taste except burning inedible & I love spicy hot things but not this disgusting burning hot water. The clear noodle salad had no taste just boiled noodles! I could of done that & not paid $40. The pad thai was DRY hardly any noodles & the peanuts came in a lil container terrible, Also OVERPRICED to say the least.

Cash only Valet parking free 1st hour in the plaza or meter street parking Not your typical Americanized Thai, spicy and a little sour, all yum flavors. Can substitute meat protein with tofu or vegetables only! Service is good, however the music video playing is a bit loud, difficult to have a conversation. Rice is extra.

One star taken away for the guy who waited on us twice. Oh, and the very tiny teeny small portion of the food makes Isaan Station a very pricey place :( Food is absolutely delicious, authentic and very very Isaan!( northeastern region of Thailand) I love it! Papaya salad, grilled pork neck with Isaan dipping sauce yummmm! Now to the waiter, I never asked for his name and don't care much for him but he's the only server, I think. He's kind of condescending and a smartass. Last time I was there with 2 friends and ordered papaya salad and pad see ew among other things and he made a face and said "those dishes don't even go together" and suggested something else that didn't sound appetizing to my ears. Umm, what do you care if I ordered things that don't go together? We are trying different things out. It's my mouth, my tongue and my stomach! Let me be! Anyway, shape up our waiter, please or he will be the only reason we don't ever come back. His demeaning attitude is not worth the drive and the delish food don't make up for it.

Authentic Thai food, confirmed by Thai like me. Lol Love papaya salad and pork ribs spicy soup ( I ordered not spicy because I cannot take spicy) and the flavor is still great. Love this place even the price is a bit higher than ones in Thaitown.

Ordered some delivery from here tonight, and I was absolutely furious with their service at first, but have since been impressed by their level of customer service. After ordering my food around 7:15, I received an email saying the food would take about 45-60 minutes; but shortly after, I got a call saying the food would be there in an even shorter time, approximately 30 minutes. However, after over and hour had passed, I called to check the status of my order, and was told that it would take another 10-15 minutes because the delivery man had dropped his phone while riding his motorcycle (and thus had to go back to get a GPS). I understood the situation and waited, but after another 20 minutes, I was absolutely furious that my order was still not here (I live about a mile away, so in the time I was waiting, I could've walked there, picked up my food, and returned to my apartment). I called again, and was told that the delivery guy had just left, and it would still take another 15 minutes...Enough was enough, and I told them to get me my food, or give me a refund. Shortly after, I received my food, but my rice was missing from my green curry, my food was lukewarm, and it had taken (in total) an hour and 45 minutes. Fed up, I called and asked for a refund, completely shocked at the service I had received. Upon a short conversation with the manager, I received a full refund, as well as a few complimentary thai iced teas. There was no hassle, the manager was extremely courteous, and I received a very sincere apology. Without this interaction I would have given this place 1 star for the terrible service I received, but they did such a good job listening to my issues, their service was redeemed in my eyes. In terms of the actual food, we ordered: pad thai, fried rice, green curry, and crying tiger. The pad thai was very clean tasting (not overly oily like you would find at many other Thai restaurants), the fried rice wasn't anything special (but not bad either), the green curry was full of flavor (the mint was a great touch), and the crying tiger was a bit underwhelming (a bit too salty and tough for my taste).

Took my Thai sister in law here after tasting the best beef jerky I've had in my life! Great flavor, chewy yet moist and sinful bits of fat which tastes great with sticky rice. My sister in law has high expectations and this place took her back home! Their bbq squid and papaya salad is also some of the best I've ever had.

    1) The food here is stupid good. On my first visit, just short of 2 weeks ago, Pat (not sure if she's the owner or manager) took the time to explain to me that they serve Thai-Thai not American-Thai food so it's less sweet than I might have been used to. She told me they also make their curry paste fresh in-house every day, so they only have one of the three (green, red, Massaman) available each day. I was dining alone so I was only able to try one dish (chargrilled beef with lime juice, onions, cilantro and a few other things I'm forgetting now) but it was delicious! And my curiosity was piqued by so many dishes I knew I would have to come back with more people. 2) The service is good, if you just let them know what you need. As promised, I came back with more people: my boyfriend and I hosted a large group here last night (easily 30 people). Pat was lovely! Without even asking, she and her staff were kind enough to break out each person's order so we could pay separately. They did take a while to get to everyone to take their orders, but we were doing a lot of musical chairs and people were arriving sporadically, so I can't really fault them for that. Any time I asked for anything, they tended to it right away, be it taking newcomers' orders or just getting me an extra glass. And did I mention the food? My boyfriend and I split 3 dishes: the papaya salad with blue crab - a little unsettling because the crab was raw, but the flavor paired so well with the lime juice (which cooks it, like ceviche) and the spiciness was perfect. I really liked the crunch of the peanuts as well. I didn't care for the chewiness of the dried shrimp, but I would definitely order this again. the fish sauce wings: perfectly fried to a crisp with a deliciously sweet-savory dipping sauce. the green curry with beef & an order of sticky rice: wasn't too spicy (we asked for medium) but came out so hot from the kitchen that we were having trouble getting enough of it into our mouths as fast as we'd like to enjoy the delicious flavor. Homemade curry paste makes all the difference! I also had a chance to try the beef jerky (deep fried beef) - chewy and delicious - and the Crying Tiger - tender and smoky, slightly sweet chargrilled beef with a surprisingly delicate chili dipping sauce. So, so good. Glad this place has opened so close to my house. I'll be back for sure. Oh, and the valet parking is free, at least on weeknights.

I went to HK Supermarket yesterday to grab some groceries and noticed the sign "Isaan Station" from across the street and was immediately drawn to the word "Isaan" which is a region in Northeast Thailand and very similar to Lao food, my native food. So I made it a point today to take the SO to Isaan Station for lunch today. I would recommend parking at the HK Supermarket across the street and walk over here because the parking here is extra tight. It is a one way in and out and in a horseshoe shaped pathway of a parking lot. It looks like the place was just opened as the tables, chairs, and even paint looked fresh and the flat screen TV still had some plastic around the edges. Though the place is modern with the garage feel- cement, black ceiling, and bare walls. Service was good. The young lady attending to us asked if it was our first time in which we replied yes. She proceeded to explain to us what Isaan street food was like, gave us a tour of the menu, and recommended a few items. Interestingly, a bit of the menu was unavailable (i.e, curry, palm juice,) and it was around 1:30 PM. I ordered the larp moo (minced pork salad) and sticky rice and the SO ordered Crying Tiger (grilled beef) and jasmine rice. The larp moo came out witin 5 mins. The sauce they used was still piping hot, something I'm not used and only have seen with Thai food, not Isaan food. Usually the Larp moo would be mixed in with lime juice. I think it was a type of broth they seasoned. In any case, it was tasty, but not the Isaan that I've tasted in the Isaan region of Thailand and that of my Isaan friends. The Crying Tiger was very good! It was marinated and grilled perfectly. My SO's only gripe was that the portions were small and he left a little bit hungry. I'd say the portions are more of an appetizer than an entree..or maybe we just have big appetites compared to the Thais? We wanted to order something else, but decided against it since the portions were small. We went across the parking lot to Paris Baguette instead to get a hot dog pastry for the SO. Poor thing was so disappointed. This place has a lot of potential. The young lady serving us was very kind and informative. The decor was modest. The food that we ordered wasn't bad. The other food at the other tables seem appetizing (though the somtum stil looks more Thai than Isaan). The SO still prefers the E-San-Rod-Sap restaurant in Anahem. The taste there, we feel, is more earthy and rustic.

Isaan Station is only two months old, and my ONLY complaint is that parts of its interior look that way. Something about it seems unfinished, though I can't put my finger on it. Thankfully, I wasn't eating the décor. The food and the customer service were fantastic. Here's the breakdown: ATMOSPHERE 3/5 stars The walls are painted with vibrant colors and the daylight through the windows brings them to life. One wall even has small outdated radios affixed to it...for some reason. It has ample contemporary seating (booths, chairs and a large rectangular table that seats 20 or so), as well as highly emotive Thai music videos playing on the TV. But, like I said, something about its interior seems unfinished. (Boo hoo. I'll get over it.) FOOD 4/5 stars I ordered the Larb Woon Sen plus an order of sticky rice (recommended with most of the dishes). I asked that the dish be prepared with a medium level of spiciness (5 on a scale of 1 to 10). Since I'm white, they seemed compassionately hesitant to serve me this level of spiciness. My nose ran, but my stomach prevailed...and thanked me! It was a perfect blend of savory minced pork, spiciness and mint, all graced with lime, onions and more spices. CUSTOMER SERVICE 5/5 stars I was greeted as soon as I entered, was seated and served promptly - all with kindness and smiles. I have Thai landlords, so I have come to expect Thai food to be amazing and Thai courtesy to be abundant. I wasn't disappointed in either regard (and I returned their courtesy with my own blend of Northern Plains/Midwest kindness). I live in Burbank, so I won't get to visit Isaan Station as often as I'd like. But I will when I can! Eat at this place. Your stomach will thank you.

Be carefull with the valet attendant in this plaza. My wife's car was dented here. At first the valet attendant said not to worry since the lot is on video camera. All sides are covered by the camera. They said to return the next day to view the camera. Next day we return and the valet said that the space they park my wife's car is not covered by the video and they are not responsible for the damage. After calling around asking friends working on law firm, I learned that i have no chance to fight it. I'm out $650. Be carefull yelpers. I hate for this to happen to you guys. Some of the worker at Isaan stattion said this happens all the time.

We visited this Thai restaurant in K-town across from Paris Baguette, which came highly recommended. The menu looked interesting, but ultimately the food was rather disappointing. We tried three dishes including my favorite - Som Tum. Isaan Station's Som Tum was disappointing. The papaya slices were a bit soggy and the sauce was bland and bitter lacking the texture and blending of flavors of a really good papaya salad. Portion size was on the small side and there was very little blue crab in the salad. The marinated grilled chicken quarter was okay, tender enough but nothing special. The only dish that stood out at all was the Pad Thai, which had lots of flavor and was neither greasy nor soupy - big pluses in my book! Even that was a bit disappointing in that the presentation was pretty base bones - a serving of noodles (again on the small side) with a little pile of crushed nuts on one side. No sprouts, not much meat, no garnish? For almost $10, I expect a bit more and that can be found at plenty of other Thai restaurants in Los Angeles. Service was fine and the food came out quickly. The dining room is a bit dive-y, not hideous but not particularly comfortable. Thai pop music is piped in over the sound system. Cash only. Parking is a little tight in the strip mall lot, but there is also street parking available. Isaan Station doesn't have a lot of competition with other Thai restaurants in the immediate vicinity, but overall my first visit was a disappointment.

A Disaster of a restaurant. We live in the area and are looking for a good thai place and would be happy to pay their slightly high prices if the food were good, but, sadly it was not. Everything we ordered was not fresh and probably from yesterday or the day before. It happens with new restaurants trying to save food costs and really costs them in the end because customers like myself will NEVER be back. We continue to look for the perfect thai restaurant in Koreatown - if anyone has one please let me know!

Ordered togo twice, the third time dine in (6/16/13). In my opinion, I think the portion is more if you eat there. It's a bit pricey for Thai food, but this is North Eastern Thai food and not many Thai restaurants serve this kind of cuisine. I like the "Larb Woonsen" and the sour spareribs. Good service, very attentive, but it wasn't busy when I was there. I hope they're consistent with the service and the food. I recommend this place.

I came here with a group of friends and someone else did the ordering. I'm not sure of everything I ate, but it was all fantastic. All the dishes were very flavorful and slightly on the spicy side. The service was excellent even though it was quite busy on a Sunday night. My favorite was the honey brick toast for dessert at the end.

Authentic Thai food fit for Thai diners ......and unexpectedly in Ktown! You definitely won't find Americanized Thai food at Isaan Station. Even their thai tea is really good- you can actually taste the flavor of the tea (at many thai restaurants, "thai iced tea" comes out as a glass of iced sugar milk with some orange food coloring added.) And please take extra caution when choosing the level of spiciness of your dishes-they do not mess around when they say something will be spicy! We ordered the Tom Yum soup and the Papaya salad and our waitress asked us to choose the level of spiciness on a scale of 1-5. My friend and I eat a lot of Korean spicy foods and thought we had a high heat tolerance so we ordered a "3" thinking It'd be mild. The dishes were so painfully spicy that after only one bite of each dish, my ears were burning and eyes watering. We had to send both dishes back to the kitchen in exchange for level 1 because we couldn't even eat it. And we assumed level 1 would be "mild" but actually it's a still a little bit spicy. So if you don't want your food to be spicy at all, on a scale of 1 to 5, I'd recommend asking for a "0". If you think you like your food really spicy, I'd recommend a 1-2. Unless you're Thai or used to eating food in Thailand and would like to have some major heartburn, go for the 3-5...otherwise you've been warned. The papaya salad was delicious..crunchy, slightly tangy, and savory with the fish sauce. The Tom Yum soup was tangy with a nice lime flavor and the shrimps were pleasantly sweet. Service was good and the waitresses were helpful in explaining the menu items. Clean restaurant with minimalistic decor. Highly recommended and will be back.

This place has easy parking, good pricing, and good food. I can tell this place is authentic from the menu. I recommend ordering palm juice with your meal if you're into sweet tea or coconut water. Be careful, when they say spicy, they mean it. I say go!

2 of us walked there for dinner last night-started with the papaya salad w raw blue crab legs. Our mistake in asking for spicy plus the server (perhaps due to her limited english) didn't try to explain that there were levels of spiciness and perhaps spicy might be too spicy for us!All I can say is thank god for the sticky rice we had ordered! Also had the pork rib soup and although we asked for spicy as well, the level of spiciness was just average. Lastly had the grilled quarter chicken marinated in tumeric. All dishes were tasty with the chicken being the most value for money as it cost the same as the papaya salad at $8 each. There was only one other table occupied when we arrived and when we left at 9pm, the place was empty! The minus one star is for the fact that 3 dishes+longan juice+one sticky rice cost us $33 excl tip! Quite steep considering the fact that portions weren't big at all.Also- it's cash only.

I called her 10 times anytime I needed anything and if you ask if it was too busy nope they were not. We were the only ones sitting in this section. Completely neglected us. Papaya salad never ask for anything more than a 5....way too spicy for me to taste anything in my papaya salad. Did someone ask for- make me throw up spicy level 10 salad. Hells no! Go ahead and try for yourself because it will keep you in the bathroom!

If you have been to Thailand and you miss the authentic Thai food come to Isaan. If you have not been to Thailand and you like to experience the real authentic Thai food come to Isaan. Either way you will not regret. Everything on menu is just drooling, survivable spicy but drooling. The three must have on your table are sticky rice, beef jerky, chicken curry. Other than Isaan is a winner with delicious Thai food.

Sad to have discovered this place so late as I am about to leave LA. I studied abroad in the Isaan region of Thailand and eating Isaan street food always brings back memories. I got the crying tiger along with the sticky rice. The steak was cooked perfectly. The combo of sticky rice/steak/dipping sauce was heaven. My friend ordered the pad thai and it was good as well. Would love to come back to try other items on the menu. Nice escape from the packed restaurants in Thai Town. There is valet parking, although the lot itself is small and may be busy during peak hours. The service was friendly and welcoming.

Isaan Station Thai Street Food is a cute restaurant in the middle of K-Town. It's located in a small shopping center and they have a big sign so it's not hard to miss. $2 for valet in the small lot but if you're lucky you can find some parking around the neighborhood. The restaurant itself is nice and colorful. I loved the decorations of sunflowers, colorful chairs, and hanging lights. The service was good too in that they were very attentive. We were a party of four and ordered at the same time. My food and my friend's Tina and Mary came quick but my friend TK, who ordered the Crying Tiger, got his food a bit later than ours. I ordered the Nahm Dtok Mhu, medium level spicy (spicy grilled pork with red onion, cilantro, green onion) with a side of sticky rice. The Nahm Dtok Mhu itself was full of flavor and tasty. I can usually handle spicy dishes but this was a bit more than I expected and it was just at a medium level! The food was still tasty though and I liked pairing it with the sticky rice. I would get this dish again. I got a taste of the Crying Tiger and it was okay. The meat was cooked well but the flavor wasn't amazing or anything. I liked the sauce that came with the dish though, I can eat that stuff all day. It's nice to find another Thai restaurant that isn't clustered in the Hollywood area. Sometimes it's such a hassle driving to Thai town and parking is difficult there almost all the time so I'm glad that I found one closer to home that's authentic too. I find that the portions here are smaller than other Thai restaurants so I was still a little hungry afterwards. They are cash only but luckily they have an ATM machine in the restaurant. It's an extra $2.00 fee to withdraw but I didn't mind withdrawing from this machine. I've been to restaurants that had ATM's inside of their establishment and the machine looked shady but this one didn't give me problems at all. 4 stars for this restaurant and I will be coming back to try the other dishes and desserts on their menu.

First time here. I've walked past this place several times to eat at one of my fav Korean restaurants in the plaza, but today I decided to give Isaan a chance. I'm happy I did. I orderd the chicken Pad See Eew with sticky rice. The dish was the perfect portion for an individual adult. It came out hot, fresh, and non-greasy (something I look for in fried noodles). The rice noodles were cooked perfectly, the chicken was thin diced but still juicy, and the broccoli was fresh and crisp, but still cooked. The over flavor was delicious. The service was expeditious and diligent. The overall environment was pleasant (I liked the Korean pop music videos and overhead sound). I'd definitely come back and recommend to friends.

Isaan Station has some very authentic Thai dishes, while at the same time offering some of the more "common" dishes like Pad Thai for the masses. I recommend branching out if you come here. I like my food spicy and find that most places can't meet my spice expectations. That was not the case at Isaan. They are not messing around with the spice here. Get ready to sweat and have your nose run, folks. I find it to be comparable to Night + Market but at about half (or less) the price. We tried the: Nahm Dtok Mhu (Spicy charcoal grilled pork with red onion, mint leaves, lime, rice powder, cilantro, coriander and green onion) Tom Saab Kra Dhook Mhoo (Hot and sour soup of braised pork ribs, broth Thai herbs, lemongrass, galangal, kiffir lime leaves, chili and lime juice) Sticky Rice - a small order probably just sufficient for one - unless you are watching your carbs, I'd recommend getting one per person. Both dishes were spicy, flavorful, and authentic. Because both were pork, next time I'd love to try some chicken or seafood. A quaint spot, they are going for the whole "street food" vibe. Although completely casual, it's a bit more upscale than that (not difficult). Cash only, but there is an ATM (there are two sides to the restaurant, it is on the left hand side).

Super delicious thai food! Beware of the spice levels because they don't play around. I suffered through my yummy seafood soup while my boyfriend, who is a spice fiend, kept slurping. The flavor was soo good and worth the torture. We also had the shrimp pad see ew which was super bomb! The noodles and veggies were cooked perfectly. Love this little hidden gem and I can't wait to go back for more!

This place was a total surprise. I came here not expecting Thai food so good. There were couple of missteps, but overall the food here was phenomenal. I'll start with the good. Their green curry is probably THE tastiest curry I have ever had. It was full of flavor and delicious veggies and meat. But it wasn't too greasy, heavy or too much coconut milk which happens way too often. I can't wait to go back for that. Same goes for Pad Thai which is an ubiquitous dish, but really stood out here. It was fresh and delicious. The crying tiger was delicious as well. The areas for improvement. Their shrimp fried was a bit overcooked and needed some shrimp paste or some veggies to make it better. The soup was great as well, but we should have ordered the regular Thom Yum, because the seafood one was a little too fishy. Finally the larb with glass noodles had all the great flavor you want, but the noodles took the bite out of the dish and made it too mushy. It was just a texture thing, and there are regular larb on the menu that's probably great. I can't wait to go back to get my favorites and try some new items.
